As a reminder, these are the options for lesson sign ups and what new student sessions, refresher lessons and maintenance lessons entail.
New student lessons:
-6 weeks (M-F) (lesson could go longer if sickness/ bad weather cancellations)
-These lessons are for children 6 months and up. There is no age limit to whom I teach, the only stipulation is I must have cooperation from a child/adult that can actually touch the bottom of the pool floor.
-Depending on your child’s age, it will determine if he/she learns how to rollback and float only, or if your child will learn the swim-float-swim sequence. If your child is walking, he/she will learn to go under water, eyes open, with excellent breath control, swim, roll back for air when necessary and flip over to swim.
It not only is important for a child to learn accurate swimming skills but it is extremely important for a child to learn how to self-rescue in case of emergency! -If you are an adult and want to learn how to float and/or swim, I can teach you as well! There is never a time you should say “I’m too old for that.”
Refresher lessons:
-2-3 weeks(M-F)
-These lessons help your child’s swim/rollback to float be where they need to be at all times. Every child’s body grows so that means each child needs to be comfortable in how to manage and control their added weight/length. These lessons are given after a student has gone through an entire new student session.
-I highly recommend every child doing refresher lessons every 3-6 months.
✨if your child had Refreshers or was a new student last year, get in for refreshers in my March/April session. It will ensure your child will be more comfortable in the water for the summer! Also, if you can, sign up for maintenance one day a week to keep your child in the water throughtout the year(when I’m in the pool).
-IMPORTANT information: if your child learned to only rollback and float last year, your child may now be at the age to incorporate the swimming portion as well.
Maintenance lessons:
-1 or 2 days a week
-These lessons are to maintain what your child has learned, as well as keeping their skills up to par throughout the year. Sometimes swimming on their own can develop bad habits so these lessons ensure that the form is being used properly and they are continuing to practice their skills regularly!
✨I highly recommend these lessons after refresher lessons and after going through the 6 week new student session.
✨These lessons are available March-October(when I’m in the pool).
