It was 80 degrees two days ago but now it’s snowing in KY and we are ready to get out there and kill some birds!
Tyler went out and scouted yesterday and saw plenty of them!
Veterans hunt is on 11/20 and opening day is on Thanksgiving (11/24)!

Layout hunting is probably best explained as a sport within a sport.
It is a highly technical technique that requires teamwork. There are no solo layout hunts!👫
The tender boat is the most important piece of the puzzle. 🧩 The “Dos Gris” (pronounced DoL Gree) is a 24” custom aluminum welded plate boat, built in Washington state in 2005.
It is powered with a Honda 225 jet motor.
The Dos Gris has seen many rough days on Barkley and KY Lake and it will keep you safe to and from the dock!👍🏼

Dr. McCullough began hunting in 1984 in Northwest Pennsylvania. He had hunting waterfowl in ⭐️27⭐️ states and ⭐️5⭐️ countries! His father was a decoy carver and introduced him to decoy carving as well.
Later in life, this became a passion and many decoys that Steve had carved are hunted over in the rig🦆
Steve wants each client to experience the thrill of laying on a large body of water, watching and waiting for divers🪶

West Kentucky Layout Adventures has been established in 2022.
We focus on a high quality, very specific type of hunt and experience for our clients. We specialize in open water layout hunting.
While not a new style of water fowling, this type of hunting is extremely popular on the Great Lakes and Eastern Seaboard. Layout hunting is not widely known in the deep and mid-south regions.
This is NOT a high volume shoot. Our primary bird is the Lesser scaup and their numbers have decreased over the last 20 years.
Our focus is to provide our clients with a high quality, unique experience to water fowling. Many avid water fowlers have never tried layout hunting and we want to offer this experience.
