We do not have a required dress code. Jeans are welcome. Tex Simon called the Trails the working man's golf club.

Our Story

"Average Joe" Friendly is how most describe Blossom Trails. We do not have a required dress code. Tshirt or jeans are welcome. Tex Simon called the Trails the “working man's golf club”.

The course was originally built by George and Virginia Graber in 1958. After returning to Benton Harbor from his service in the Army, George and Virginia worked the family fruit farm until 1957, when they began the conversion of the farm into the first nine of Blossom Trails Golf Course. Virginia managed the clubhouse while her husband took care of the golf course maintenance. They built the second nine in 1960, and the par-three course, "Little Bud," in 1963.

The course was sold in 1970 to Golf Professional Gaylon "Tex" Simon and his wife, Aurora, who operated it until 1986. Family friends of Tex and Aurora, Tim and Jo Ann Smith bought the course from the Simon’s when illness struck and, as Tex asked, have continued to keep The Trails accessible to the average income family. Blossom Trails Golf Club has served families in the Benton Harbor and surrounding areas now for

60 years!
