Bats were blistered on Sunday at Thomas Memorial Stadium, but UnionBoyz couldn't quite get the job done against Los Cubs and lost 11-8. Los Cubs collected 13 hits, while UnionBoyz had 12.

UnionBoyz made the score 4-3 in the bottom of the second after Elijah Williams hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Willie Wilson singled, scoring one run, and Chase Potter singled scoring two runs.

UnionBoyz captured the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the fourth after Chase Potter singled, and Kenneth Britt grounded out, each scoring one run.

Los Cubs flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring six runs on six hits to take a 11-6 lead.

Shawn Hureskin led things off on the bump for UnionBoyz. They surrendered 13 hits and 11 runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking five.

UnionBoyz amassed 12 hits in the game. Chase Potter provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led UnionBoyz with three runs batted in. They went 2-for-4 on the day. Shawn Hureskin led UnionBoyz with three hits in four at bats, Willie Wilson collected two hits for UnionBoyz in three at bats.

UnionBoyz defeat South Bend Opossums in pitcher duel.

Both teams were strong on the bump Sunday, but UnionBoyz defeated the Opossums 2-1. Shawn Hureskin started the game for UnionBoyz and recorded 21 outs.

UnionBoyz got on the board in the fourth inning after JB Zickafoose doubled, scoring two runs.

UnionBoyz Ace Shawn Hureskin earned the win for the UnionBoyz. They gave up four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out nine and walking three.

Judah Zickafoose drove the middle of the lineup, leading UnionBoyz with two runs batted in. The left handed batter went 2-for-2 on the day.

UnionBoyz play Niles Knights next Sunday at 11am.
