I look forward to having these boys come up and join me for a day of sturgeon fishing every year!! This year we had our best big fish day yet!!!

Fishing is great, all of the stuff but the definite best part of the job is the friendships made with great people over the years!!!

My favorite fish from the 2026 king season!

To take a picture with your first king and it slowly slips out of your hands, and turns into a big ole’ fish hug and stained sweater!!!

The size of these crayfish are blowing my mind every day trying to eat my salmon carcass’ so I decided to catch one and see it up close! Holy smokes!

The low blows continue to be aimed directly at sport fishermen. For the first time in history the Hanford reach will be hatchery only

Wild Chinook retention will close in Washington's Hanford Reach starting Wednesday, September 23, per a late-afternoon e-reg out from WDFW. Affects the waters from the Highway 395 bridge in Pasco to Priest Rapids Dam.

"Reason for action: WDFW has reviewed in-season estimates of run size and current harvest of unmarked fall Chinook salmon and associated impacts to natural-origin fish from recreational fisheries. Based on current harvest levels, it is necessary to shift to a mark-selective fishery for adult Chinook to extend opportunity to harvest hatchery fish while minimizing impacts on natural-origin fish."

***imagine for a second***. You’re 35 years old and you’ve just landed a giant fish and the first thought you have, is that this fish was likely around 2 generations ago when your grandparents were just children. What an incredible animal!
