I received this from Adam Fyall, Benton County, WA Parks Staff Member & it is with heavy heart I share it with you.
"I regret to inform you that longtime Benton County Park Board member Robin Emmingham passed-away on December 19 (cancer). He was 83 years old.
Hailing from Kellogg, Idaho, Robin was a Tri-Cities resident for 57 years. His career was as a teacher and school administrator in the Finley and Richland districts.
Robin joined the Park Board in October of 2013 and was our longest-tenured current member. As you know, he was a strong advocate for Two Rivers Park which he visited several times per week; and understood and was interested in all aspects of the parks system, from the macro to the micro levels.
Robin told me about his recent diagnosis earlier this fall. He was already a four-time cancer survivor dating back over 40 years. He was sober in his assessment of things to come yet still had plans and ideas for the parks, for travel, and beyond. Our last meeting was a walkaround at Two Rivers in late November on a quiet, warm morning discussing the shoreline improvements, restroom replacement, and reinvigorating the cypress tree project. Of course this also included debriefing the Mariners’ season and talking about the Seahawks, for which he was a season ticket holder and rarely missed a game.
Robin is survived by his wife Diane of 61 years and their two sons.
