Southern School of Martial Arts and Rivers Edge Bujinkan Dojo, First Week Free! In any of the arts we teach. WE OUR OPEN! and WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS! But that is where the similarities stop.

At Southern School of Martial Arts students learn specialized self defense and reality based martial arts. We are a non sport self defense martial arts school that focuses on the self defense aspect of martial arts. This is a great art for those children who are being bullied at school or for those adults wanting to learn effective self defense. Our martial art is based in a Modern classic form of

Ju-Jitsu with a blend of Ninjutsu, Aikido, Judo, Karate, Eskrima and Kali. It is a very dynamic martial art style that offers much more than just one single martial art style. There are striking techniques like punching and kicking that are very similar to Tae Kwon Do and Karate. We also teach grappling techniques both standing and on the ground, throwing techniques, various joint locks, weapons techniques, weapon disarms and retention, techniques for police and military and specialty classes for those who want private training. We also have Rivers Edge Bujinkan Dojo in the same building that teaches the traditional art of the Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. This is Ninjutsu the historical martial art of the Ninja. This art teaches weapons, striking and grappling with stealth and outdoor training. We also teach select techniques and aspects of several other martial arts that Soke has experience with, these are Russian Martial Arts, Krav Maga and JKD. If you want more in a martial art please check us out. We have classes for children ages 3 to 5 called Little Ninja, classes for children ages 6 to 12 called Kobushi-Do "The Little Warrior Way" and classes for teens and adults Manabi-Masho Ju-Jitsu and Bujinkan Ninjutsu. This Friday is our 30th Anniversary celebration. It will be held at the King Chinese Buffet at 40/42 in the Walmart shopping center plaza. We will start at 5:30pm and go until about 7:00pm to 7:30pm. If you are a past student or a present student, or a new student please join us in our celebration. There will be awards given to the longest training students and to those loyal students that have trained the most regularly. We look forward to seeing you! Sensei Murdock.

I celebrate my martial arts school's 30 years in business next Saturday May 16th. I knew a lot of schools don't survive that long but I didn't realize how rare it really was.

From Google search. "The odds of a martial arts school surviving to its 30-year anniversary are low, falling well within the "rare" category for small businesses. While roughly 50% of all small businesses fail within the first five years, only about 5% or fewer make it to 30 years or longer. While some martial arts schools thrive, many face high turnover, with roughly 50% of students dropping out within the first six months and only a tiny fraction reaching long-term training milestones".

I'm very blessed to have made it this far. Thank you to all my students, past and present for your support during these 30 years. Without you this wouldn't have been possible. We have had several make it to black belt and then above black belt into degrees of black. We have one Master black belt as well.

I only had 4 likes on my previous 30th Anniversary posts. If you are seeing this please like so I know it's being seen. Recently I only see a few likes on my posts. It's usually the same few people.
