Not mentioned in the story was the great team defensive play led by Abby Cheung, Veronica Lennon, Anjali Guda and Goalkeeper Hailey Fricke. Lennon finished the game with 2 defensive saves. Midfielders Reese Sayers and Paige Dando played exceptionally well today. Freshman Paige Pressler and Mackenzy Leasher looked very comfortable playing a very tough Neshaminy team. They’re fitting in very nicely!

Bensalem Field Hockey had a pretty good day today. Varsity lost 2-1 to a powerhouse Neshaminy team that has been dominating this division for years. That story will be posted here tomorrow from SuburbanOne Sports.
The Junior Varsity team got off to an early lead against Neshaminy's JV when sophomore Gianna Duffy found the back of the cage with an assist from Kylee Wenig with just 14 seconds remaining in the first quarter. That lead continued all the way until there was just 10:30 left in the game. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, probably the first tie against Neshaminy in many years! JV is looking sharp so far this year in both preseason scrimmages and their first game against Truman on Tuesday night. On Tuesday, Bensalems JV beat Truman 3-1 with two goals from Duffy and one from freshman Darcy Leslie. In that game, Ava Barrera had two assists and freshman Mackenzy Leasher had her first. Duffy has been extraordinary so far this year, from being introduced to the game as a freshman last year to leading the JV team in goals after two games with three.
They are off to a great start with a solid foundation of sophomores led by Barrera, Duffy, defender Sophia Gross, midfielders Averie Ly and Rowan O'Neil, and forward Kylee Wenig. They are joined by eight freshman finding their way on the field, led by defender CeCe Barton and Goalkeeper Gabby Thompson. Off to a great start! More wins coming next week!!!!!
