Wologisi Boys Bring Back Experienced Coach Kollie Korvah as County Steps Up Preparations for 2026/27 NCSM

Lofa County has officially unveiled its technical teams for football and kickball as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 National County Sports Meet (NCSM), with county authorities signaling their ambition to compete for national honors.

The appointments were announced Wednesday during an official unveiling ceremony organized by the Lofa County Sports Steering Committee in Monrovia, marking the beginning of a renewed campaign to assemble competitive and disciplined teams capable of representing the county at the national level.

For football, Kollie Korvah, popularly known as “Korvy,” has been appointed head coach of the Lofa County team.

He will be assisted by George Saysay, who has been named deputy coach of the Wologisi Boys.

The county has also appointed Jerry Kennedy as head coach of its kickball team, with Luther T. Kayedah serving as assistant coach.

Korvah Returns With Winning Experience
Korvah’s return has generated considerable excitement among Lofa County supporters, given his previous success with the Wologisi Boys.

Regarded by many fans as one of the coaches associated with Lofa’s successful campaigns in previous editions of the National County Sports Meet, Korvah returns with experience, tactical knowledge and familiarity with the demands of the competition.

His appointment is therefore being viewed as a significant part of Lofa’s strategy to strengthen its football program and mount a serious challenge for the championship.

The county will be hoping that Korvah can once again build a cohesive squad capable of navigating the intensity, rivalry and pressure traditionally associated with Liberia’s premier county-level sporting competition.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Momo T. Cyrus, Chairman of the Lofa County Sports Steering Committee, challenged the newly appointed technical staff to approach their responsibilities with professionalism, discipline and determination.

Cyrus urged the coaches to identify and develop players capable of forming balanced, competitive squads while maintaining high standards of discipline and organization.

He further tasked the technical teams with building sides strong enough to compete for trophies across the respective sporting categories.

The appointment of Jerry Kennedy to lead the kickball team represents another important component of Lofa County’s preparations.

Working alongside assistant coach Luther T. Kayedah, Kennedy is expected to begin the process of identifying talented players and shaping a competitive team capable of challenging for national honors.

Kickball remains an important component of the National County Sports Meet, attracting strong county rivalries and significant public interest throughout Liberia.

Lofa Signals Ambition Ahead of NCSM
With both technical teams now confirmed, Lofa County has moved into a critical phase of its preparations for the 2026/27 National County Sports Meet.

The unveiling provides the foundation for player identification, training, tactical preparation and squad development in the weeks ahead.

For a county with a proud sporting tradition and passionate supporters, expectations will be high.

Lofa’s leadership has made its objective clear: build disciplined, organized and competitive teams capable of going deep into the tournament and challenging for championship glory.

As preparations gather momentum, attention will now turn to player selection and the commencement of intensive training, with the Wologisi Boys and the county’s kickball team expected to carry Lofa’s hopes on the national stage.

Sinoe NPA have strengthened their defensive options ahead of the upcoming Liberia Football Association (LFA) Second Division League season with the signing of central defender Moses J. Quaye from Mighty Barrolle.

The Greenville-based club confirmed Quaye’s arrival as part of its preparations for the new campaign, with the experienced defender expected to provide greater stability, physical presence and depth at the heart of the team’s backline.

Quaye has completed his move to Sinoe NPA after featuring for Mighty Barrolle, one of Liberia’s established football clubs.

His arrival represents another important step in Sinoe NPA’s efforts to assemble a competitive squad capable of challenging for positive results throughout the Second Division season.

The central defender is expected to bring composure and defensive discipline to a Sinoe NPA side seeking to establish itself as a serious force in Liberia’s second tier.

His ability to operate in central defense could prove particularly valuable over the course of a demanding league campaign, where squad depth and consistency are often crucial to a club’s ambitions.

For Sinoe NPA, the signing also reflects the club’s broader commitment to strengthening key areas of the squad before the start of competitive action.

The Greenville outfit will be hoping that the addition of Quaye can help provide a more resilient defensive foundation as it pursues its objectives for the upcoming season.

Quaye now joins a growing group of players preparing to represent Sinoe NPA, with attention turning toward the club’s final preparations, squad development and tactical organization ahead of the new LFA Second Division campaign.

District 17 Sports Academy Sign Emmanuel Tarwoe Jr. Ahead of Historic First-Division Campaign

By: Theophilus Wiaplah

Newly promoted District 17 Sports Academy have strengthened their defensive options with the signing of promising right-back Emmanuel Tarwoe Jr. from Amazing FC ahead of the 2026/27 Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division League season.

The transfer represents another significant step in District 17 Sports Academy’s preparations for their maiden campaign in Liberia’s top flight, with the club moving decisively to reinforce its squad following promotion from the lower divisions.

Tarwoe joins District 17 after an impressive spell with Amazing FC, where he recently featured prominently during the Third Division Regional Playoffs.

His performances during the competition helped establish him as one of Amazing FC’s dependable defensive players and attracted the attention of the newly promoted side.

The young full-back is regarded as a modern wide defender, combining defensive awareness and pace with an ability to contribute to attacks from the flank.

His versatility is expected to give District 17’s technical team greater tactical flexibility as the club prepares to face the increased demands of First Division football.

His arrival also adds competition for places within a District 17 defensive unit that will be tested against some of Liberia’s more established top-flight clubs.

For a team entering the First Division for the first time, squad depth and tactical discipline are likely to be crucial throughout the campaign. District 17 have therefore continued to strengthen key areas of the squad as they seek to make a smooth transition to the highest level of domestic football.

Tarwoe’s signing underlines the club’s broader ambition to build a competitive team rather than simply make up the numbers in its debut season.

His recent experience in competitive regional football is expected to provide valuable depth as preseason preparations gather pace.

District 17 Sports Academy remain active in the transfer market as the club works to assemble a balanced squad capable of competing consistently throughout the 2026/27 LFA First Division campaign.

With Tarwoe now added to an increasingly competitive roster, attention will turn to how the promising defender adapts to the demands of Liberia’s top division.

For District 17, the objective is clear: make their historic arrival in the First Division count and establish themselves as a competitive force in Liberian football.

Myanmar Giants Bolster Attack with Experienced Liberian Winger Ahead of 2026/27 Campaign

By: Theophilus Wiaplah

Myanmar Premier League powerhouse Yangon United have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of former Liberia international Albert Robert Korvah on a one-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The experienced Liberian winger joins the Myanmar club from Nigerian top-flight side Remo Stars, adding further depth and attacking quality to Yangon United's squad as preparations intensify for the new campaign.

Korvah is regarded as a versatile attacking player capable of operating effectively on the left wing, while also featuring in an advanced midfield role.

His pace, creativity and ability to contribute in the final third are expected to provide Yangon United with additional options as the club seeks to mount a strong challenge across domestic competitions.

The move to Myanmar represents another chapter in Korvah's increasingly international career.

The Liberian attacker has gained valuable experience across Liberia, Nigeria and Libya, competing in different football environments and developing into an experienced and adaptable player.

His time in Nigeria, including his spell with Remo Stars, further exposed him to a highly competitive West African football landscape, while his experience abroad has helped broaden his tactical and technical development.

Korvah has also represented the Liberia national team, the Lone Star, featuring in competitive international fixtures and gaining experience at the senior level.

Yangon United will be hoping Korvah's experience and attacking versatility can make an immediate impact as the club prepares for the 2026/27 campaign.

The arrival of the Liberian provides the Myanmar giants with another attacking outlet and adds competition for places within the squad.

With his ability to operate from the flank and contribute in advanced positions, Korvah could become an important component of Yangon United's attacking plans throughout the season.

For the former Liberia international, meanwhile, the move presents an opportunity to make his mark in Asian football and further extend his professional career on the international stage.

Korvah's one-year agreement will see him represent Yangon United throughout the 2026/27 season, with expectations high that his experience and creativity can help the club achieve its domestic ambitions.
