As a result of the government shutdown, the USDA has stated there is not enough available funding for November SNAP benefits without further action from the federal government. One of the biggest problems that families and individuals suffering from poverty is the lack of access to sufficient, healthy, and balanced food. This is where a local food pantry comes in to help.

Our Raid community knows how important nutrition is for a healthy body. We want to give back to our larger community and collect non-perishables to donate to our local food pantries. Our member, .__taylor , will also be taking the donations we receive in mid-November to Preston and Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger, where all donations will go to Philabundance and distributed to food pantries across the Philadelphia area.

Now through the end of November, CrossFit Raid will have a box in the lobby for non-perishables. Please contribute what you can and help us strengthen our community through care.

People often have an idea of what CrossFit is and who it is for without ever having stepped foot in an affiliate. You might have an idea of what a class looks like based off the highlight reels on social media.

When I saw this was my class for the day it made me so happy. This is what so many don’t see. Helping people on a path to longer healthier lives is always the goal. CrossFit really is for EVERYONE. The beauty of it is we can have the athletes who love CrossFit as a sport and the people who want to improve their day to day life all under one roof.
