Capos, if you already see any matches that need to be rescheduled, you can get started online at beniciabocce.org/reschedule. Friday night has the most irregular matches this year. This could not be avoided due to Memorial Day weekend and the 4th of July falling on a Saturday this year. We appreciate your flexibility, we do our best to avoid irregular matches as much as we can.

The Capo Meeting is coming up on Sat. March 21st at 10am, at the Veteran’s Hall in the upstairs space.
We’ll discuss the upcoming season, financials, the schedule, and take questions. You’ll want to have at least one capo there.
We look forward to seeing everyone. I hear there will be donuts, coffee, and door prizes…

Hi Rollers,

It’s time to start thinking about the upcoming 2026 Bocce season. Registration will be held between Jan. 24th and Feb. 28th. This year we are again making waivers a requirement for registration. Your team is not registered until everyone on your team has signed their waiver. This year, we are also requiring full names for each team member.

The team fee will remain unchanged this year, $350 per team, plus $26 per player.

- The Capo Meeting will again be held in person at the Vet’s Hall on Sat. March 21st at 10am.
- The Opening Day BBQ, on Saturday, April 18th. More details to come.
- The first matches will be played on Sun. April 19th.
- Then Playoffs will be held between Sept. 8th and 19th.

We have officially wrapped up the 2025 bocce season. First and foremost, congratulations to the 2025 BBL Champions, Benicia Smog, and runners-up Superfriends. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the season and will return next year to continue with the camaraderie and friendly competition of the Benicia Bocce League.
Thank you to all teams for the exemplary sportsmanship this season. It truly makes the league fun and welcoming for everyone.
In the off-season, we will take inventory of the sheds and make updates as needed. We will also be working with the city to prepare the courts for next season.
Look for the registration email for the 2026 season to come out in January.

Hi Rollers!

We’ve just about made it to the end of the regular season. I hope everyone had a good time. Up next is the Playoffs!

Reminder: Typically, the regular season ends before Labor Day. But, we needed an extra week this year. So, it will wrap up at the end of this week.

The Playoffs are a single elimination tournament. The top four teams from each division, plus four wildcard teams, all advance into the Playoffs. Once all the regular season results are in, we’ll determine the seeds and release the schedule. But, here are the dates:

- Round 1: Sept. 10 - 15th
- Round 2: Sept. 16 - 17th
- Round 3: Sept. 18th
- Round 4: Sept. 19th
- Championship: Sept. 20th

All matches will be at 6pm, except for the Championship match, which is at 4pm.

Once the regular season wraps up, teams will be placed into the bracket, which can be viewed online.

Remember, the Playoffs are a unique schedule. You won’t necessarily play on your regular night. And if you win, you may play multiple nights in the same week. A match for third place will be held at the same time as the Championship match.

While the playoffs are more competitive than the regular season, we want to remind everyone to stay on their best behavior. You’ll be playing with folks from other divisions, whom you may not have built a rapport. Capos are in charge of keeping their teammates in line. We encourage folks to come down to the courts and watch. But, we expect them to be respectful as well.

Hi Rollers,

This is a reminder that registration for the 2025 Benicia Bocce League season opens next weekend on Saturday, Feb. 1st at noon. Be sure to get your team ready to sign their waivers, as your registration will not be complete until everyone signs.

Correction: The City has raised the player fee again this year. Though, only by a dollar to $26 per person.

This year, we’re having the Capo Meeting in person again. It will be held at the Vet’s Hall on Saturday, April 5th at 10am.

The season will kick off with an Opening Day BBQ, on Saturday, April 26th. More details to come. The first matches will be played on Sunday April, 27th. In order to accommodate the slightly later start day, the regular season will wrap up on Monday, Sept. 8th. Then Playoffs will be held between Sept. 10th and 20th.

The team fee of $350 will remain unchanged this year. Though as a reminder, last year the City of Benicia has raised their individual fee from $10 to $25 per person. We are continuing the increased roster capacity of 16 players.

Hi Rollers,

We have officially wrapped up the 2024 bocce season. First and foremost, congratulations to the 2024 BBL Champions, Ball Busters and runners up Benicia Smog. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the season and will return next year to continue with the comradery and friendly competition of the Benicia Bocce League.

In the off-season we will be dissecting the computerized playoff ranking system and making adjustments. We appreciate the emails bringing this to our attention. We will also be taking inventory of the sheds and making updates as needed. We will be working with the city to prepare the courts for next season.
