Big shout out to the Lady Red Dragons this weekend. After a two year absence the jv team got a win after 4 days with coach Mansfield stepping in to help us out. The varsity girls bounced back from a loss Friday night to have a great win today. We don't have many girls on either team and it's not to late to play. If interested come to practice Monday and check it out.

I would like to say thank you and good luck in the future to these great guys. With a shortened season and crazy restrictions, these guys were on their way to a championship until their season was cut short even more by covid. You will all be missed greatly and I will miss being harassed daily from you guys.

I would like to congratulate Cam Crist on receiving the team Defensive MVP this year. He never backs down from a challenge and goes 100% all the time.

Congratulations to the Drew and Tucker first team, Cam second team, and Adam honorable mention.

The last senior up is Drew Kelemen. I knew from last year Drew was going to be a force to deal with in our league this year. Drew was one of the best players in our league and was probably one of the hardest to guard 1 on 1. This kid in practice and games would pull things out of no where and make everyone around him look average. I warned everyone if you are on the floor and Drew has the ball , be ready because there is a pretty good chance you may get it no matter where you are.
What I loved about Drew was he would listen to everything you say and never say much in return. I mean he never would say anything. Last year during practice I would ask the guys if Drew was ok? Like this kid never talks. But then he starts playing and I'm like , ok he dosent have to say a word. LoL!! Now this year the silent assassin was a little more vocal and it was a pleasant surprise to even see him get a little upset. I have hundreds of memories of his crazy finishes, but one memory I love the most was in a particular game Drew was pretty mad . ( To be honest he was pi**ed off) Here is this kid playing all out , leaving no doubts that he was going to win this game. He was so fired up that when one of the other teams better players fouled out , he started yelling that is 5 that is 5 running towards our bench. I was like yeah yeah I know , calm down we know. The look in his eyes was one I have never seen out of Drew. My thought was maybe I should pull him out for a second to calm him down , but then I'm like if I do that he may knock me out right here on the sideline. Needless to say I went with leaving him in.
Drew will be missed immensely next year and some younger kids will have to try and step in to fill some pretty big shoes on offense and defense. This year Drew was voted to the first team all-stars by the league coaches. I am super proud of him and wish him the best of luck. With no doubt Drew was our team MVP for the season. Congrats!
