Never mounted. Stored in my garage for years. Heavy duty front rack. Rated for 40 pounds. Easy mounting for most 26"-700cc upright bikes.

Shifting Gears is working! We have a new group of volunteers headed by Nishiime who have been working behind the scenes to clean up the shop and fix bikes. So happy to throw the doors open yesterday in celebration of Bemidji Pride! The smiles say it all.

We be accepting bike donations this fall.
Intact bikes; no significant frame damage or excessive rust, please. Bikes that have been stored exposed to winter weather are almost impossible to fix.

You may contact us via messenger to arrange drop off.

Watch this space for donation and volunteer opportunities. Planning a bike accessory and part swap yet this year.

Many, many thanks to Laura Galaviz for her work at Shifting Gears. She has moved back to the Twin Cities and we wish her well. Shifting Gears will be taking a break while Misty and I take care of some important family matters. Watch this page in the coming weeks for updates. For now we are unable to respond to messages and requests. Thank you for your patience.

SHIFTING GEARS is joining an Indigenous mutual aid group called MAROON STAR PANTRY 🌟 this year and we are joining them for their 2023 KICKOFF is this SUNDAY! We’ll be offering free bike repairs during this event! 🛠

PLEASE BRING DONATIONS 🧧🎁🚲🧤👖🪙and GIVE THANKS TO INDIGENOUS RESISTANCE.

We would like to help Maroon Star Pantry’s efforts by donating to their Venmo, CashApp (INFORMATION BELOW) or with cash 💵 donations the day of the event so they can keep this working going! You can also bring donations for the pantry like clothes, shoes, food, and good quality used bikes!

There will be a documentary showing after at 5pm called ‘Zapatistas 1999’ and ending with an open discussion on the future of indigenous liberation and resistance.
