It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Sally Montebello, a long time Bemidji resident who loved to cross country ski. Sally was the beloved wife of Bob, one of the founders of Bemidji Area Cross Country Ski Club, past president and long time trail administrator. Sally and Bob housed much of the Ski Club's equipment at their property prior to the new storage facility.

If you ever cleared trail with Bob and stopped for lunch he would open up a complete meal with a sandwich, vegetable and fruit - it was made by Sally and was sure to include all the food groups!! She really was the glue.

Snow Dragons placed 9th out of 32 teams, best result in 3 years and only 1 place away from Gold Cup qualifying.

Snow Dragons raced a time of 2:06:60, our fastest time EVER!

14 of the 21 person crew are part of the Bemidji area ski community. (BACCS Club members, former BHS ski team, ski school alumni and local ski enthusiasts) We are working on the others 😉

12 of the 21 person crew are women. 💞

We have a new dock chant:
I SAY WE, YOU SAY SKI!
WE, SKI, WE, SKI !!! 🐲

Youngest crew member is 18……oldest crew member 69+ 💪🏻

Most importantly, this is an amazing crew of positive and competitive people who came together from all sorts of places…..including as far away as Germany…..to paddle, compete, have fun and share time outdoors on a beautiful day in Bemidji.

It was a pleasure to be their captain!

TODAY Saturday August 1st the Snow Dragons race in the Civic Cup at 10:26am hoping to win it for the 3rd year in a row. Our second race in the afternoon is at 1:29pm. Come watch us at the a Bemidji Waterfront for this year’s Dragon Boat Festival! ❄️🐉🛶💪🐲

❄️ 🐉 🛶 Ope, it’s that time of year again! The Snow Dragons are prepping to defend the Civic Cup at the Bemidji Dragon Boat Races tomorrow Saturday August 1st at Lake Bemidji Waterfront.
TONIGHT Friday July 31st, participants have practice at Library Park at 4pm, others are welcome to come watch!

This Saturday! Join the Bemidji Composite Mountain Bike Team for a fundraiser ride at Movil Maze!

The Annual Team Fundraiser Event will be held Saturday July 25th. After last years modified event due to the storm damage we have decided to keep it the same format for this year (It was really fun!!). Come race competitively to see how you stack up, come ride casually untimed, or come do something in between.
