Taking a few orders for some custom wooly chaps that will be built exactly like the ones pictured, just less flashy (unless flashy is what you’re after), and built with angora goat , Scottish Highlander, and Tibetan lamb hides. Like I said, every pair is built the exact same way, the only difference being sizing. The front of the chap consists of the hair on hide lined with a medium-heavy canvas backing, deer tanned cow hide makes up the rest of the chap. All major seams are welted to reinforce the stitch line, and paired with other overlooked techniques from the past, these are built to last. My father’s angoras are put to use multiple times a week, sometimes everyday, for 9 months out of the year. They’re 7 years old and in great condition still. This style chap is very light, weighing about 4-6 pounds, and once broken in a little are very comfortable and easy to move and work in. The pair listed has two built in pistol pockets, roughly 25 flowers with dyed backgrounds tooled throughout the front chap belts, the back belt, and the bottom cuffs.
The measurements for the pair pictured are as follows.
Thigh Opening - 27”
Bottom Leg Opening - 21”
Inseam - Around 32”
Top of belt to bottom cuff - 39”
This pair has a medium high belt and my father is in a picture to show the fit on someone who wears 30x32 Levi’s.
If you’re looking for something with less tooling and without the bottom cuffs, something suitable for everyday use, message me to discuss pricing and other options.
1/2 scale miniatures and kids chaps also available.
$2,000 but will consider reasonable offers.
