Rick Pratt making it look easy in the ACC GC Open Championship Doubles Final with partner Adam Lassiter against Danny Huneycutt and Chris Olsen. Danny and Chris proceeded to win 7-6.

Adam and I made our way to Aiken, SC to play at Green Boundary Club this past weekend, which also happened to be Derby weekend. It was not only a great trip to celebrate another year older, but we managed to squeak out the win battling 3 rounds of last turn against our friends and finalists, Brian Hovis and Bo Prillaman.

We encourage you to pay Green Boundary a visit. Wonderful hosts, well managed tournament and a historic town. We weren’t able to stay for the polo match on Sunday afternoon, but that is on our list for our next visit.

Albemarle Croquet at Doodle Hill hosted an outstanding Spring GC Open this weekend!

In the doubles championship, Adam Lassiter and Kim Beaty faced off against John Lassiter and Rocky Smith after both teams went undefeated through bracket play. The match was a great one to watch, highlighted by Kim executing a perfect jump shot to take a 5–3 lead. Adam and Kim carried that momentum to secure a 7–4 victory and the championship title.

A big thank you to Elaine and Rocky Smith for directing such an exceptional tournament. We’re grateful for all the participants who made the event a success.

In this video I took a smooth wicket shot from the baulk line (31’). The morning dew is a great way to track the ball roll. The courts are rolling great. They are maintained at a HOC of .140, treated with PGR, and rolled every other day ahead of tournaments.

Adam Lassiter played in the 2024 US National American 6 Wicket Croquet Championship. He had a great run only losing 1 game during bracket play. He fell short in the finals to the reining National Champion, Stuart Lawrence.
