Wrapping up the last classes of the year. Grateful to have everyone work so hard everyday and help make our little village a fun place to learn. So honored to be entrusted with these little ones' (and not so little ones!) education and growth - not only as fencers, but also as future ladies and gentlemen, and good citizens who give back to the community wherever they may go.

It is truly a sad day, for the fencing community in the USA. So many professionals in the US Fencing community owes so much to The Coach. Our Coach Jay is so grateful that Coach K and Wes Glon took him under their wings early in his formative years, both as a budding referee and a coach. Every one of our fencers who has reached higher levels in competition over the years, every one of our national and international medalists, every one of our fencers who found joy and laughter in our daily practices, we owe Coach K in how he taught our Coach Jay how we teach and raise our fencers. The context and wisdom Coach K taught us lives on in our every day learning.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Hall of Fame Coach Emik Kaidanov's passing. Emik is mourned by his wife of 60 years, Bela, his son Greg and the entire Nova fencing family.

Emik's influence on American fencing was vast as both a coach and as a facilitator who helped usher in a wave of Russian coaches to the United States.
