No pets on the mat
Keep cell phones quiet
Safety:
Be courteous, use common sense, and have respect at all times for Jiu-Jitsu, our Dojo, your training partners, visitors, and spectators
Maintain composure at all times; do not loss your calmness or temper when things go wrong for whatever reason. Adapt to situations in the Dojo as you would adapt in life; be patient and let the dust settle before you make a situation worse by acting impulsively
Think before you act; nothing justify aggressive behavior
Sparring can be intimidating in the beginning; be calm, use techinique and learn how to defend first before atrempting attacks
If you are not sure about a certain technique, don’t apply it because you could injure yourself or your training partner; ask the instructor to explain what can and cannot be used
Never abuse or overpower a beginner during sparring; always guide them and explain their mistakes and also point out their progress during sparring sessions

We are entering a new phase on our Jiu Jitsu classes and this page will be an important tool for everyone who is part of this team.
There will be a lot of posts here aiming at educating the beginner and reinforcing the message of safety, control, technique, respect to each other on the mats, the old message of leaving the ego outside and share with your training partner great training sessions.

I am going to ask you to feel free to share your thoughts, your ideas on how we can make this training facility even better.
I am sure everyone will have always great ideas but nothing is going to work if we don't exercise control and respect on the mats.
Respect for the teachers and training partners. Nothing will work until we deeply understand and accept that each roll is an opportunity for more learning and bonding and not a challenge on who is better.

I am printing the Principles of the Dojo guidelines and in of its paragraphs I mention that my training partner's safety is MY responsibility.

Most of the posts here will be based on the principle of respect and control which will lead you to learn to accept and eventually feel the essence of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. There will be quotes from several black belts and grand masters of the art.

I am planning to post videos with techniques and also with the Alliance curriculum for those who miss the curriculum classes at the academy.

I am confident that we are going to achieve great results.
It is time to move forward and rebuild and I am 1,000% we can do it but we need to work together for the common good of everyone.

Our rolls and our Jiu Jitsu will get better if I treat my training partner with respect and not with bad temper and negative aggressiveness.

Thank you, and thank you for your support and commitment to make this process happen. Together we are strong!
