Belmont Bandits Baseball

10/12/2026

A few cancellations and reschedules, approximately 442 weather app checks, and a whole lot of patience later...WE FINALLY DID IT! 😂

A HUGE thank you to our 2027 Bandits coaching staff for rolling with the punches (and apparently every rain cloud in Gaston County! 🙄) to make our 2027 tryout happen!

These guys have given up countless hours of their time to help build something special for our boys, and we couldn't be more grateful for their dedication, flexibility, and willingness to show up.

Thank you to every family who stuck it out with us, adjusted schedules, and came out to tryouts! We are so excited for what is to come!

Here's to the 2027 season! And maybe a little less rain. 🤞🏼⚾️

GO BANDITS!

⚾️ ADDITIONAL TRYOUT OPPORTUNITIES! ⚾️

With the weather looking a little questionable for Sunday, we’ve added several additional opportunities to try out this Friday and Saturday!

Players of ANY age group can come at ANY of the listed times. Pick the time that works best for your family and come see us at Davis Park!

As of right now, Sunday tryouts are still ON, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on the weather and may have to make changes. If you’re able to come Friday or Saturday, we definitely encourage it!

Come show us what you’ve got! ❤️⚾️🖤

We are bummed to announce that tryouts have been rescheduled! Mother Nature has big plans for this Sunday that, sadly, do not include baseball. 🌧️😕👎

We will see everyone next Sunday, October 11th. Same tryout times as originally scheduled.

MEET THE COACH!
Brett Stoner 🤝 Head Coach 11u!

We are thrilled to welcome Coach Brett back for his 4th season leading these boys!

Brett brings seven years of youth baseball coaching experience and a genuine passion for helping young players learn, grow, and enjoy the game. He loves teaching the fundamentals of baseball and, most of all, seeing players take what they work on in practice and apply it during games.

In addition to baseball, Brett coaches both of his children's basketball teams, giving him the opportunity to work with young athletes across multiple sports. He believes youth sports are about more than just winning—they're about building confidence, learning how to work together, developing good habits, and having fun along the way.

As a coach, Brett believes EFFORT, ATTITUDE, and TEAMWORK are the foundation of a successful player and a successful team. He encourages his players to give their best effort, maintain a positive attitude, support their teammates, and continually look for ways to improve.

Above all, Brett enjoys watching kids have fun playing baseball. His goal is to create a positive, energetic environment where players can develop their skills, build lasting memories, and learn to love the game.

Coach Brett fun fact: if Sweet Tart Ropes were a fruit, he'd eat them every day. 😄🍓

MEET THE COACH!
Aaron Horne 🤝 Head Coach 10u!

Bandits are excited to be welcoming a new head coach to our 'team' this season!

Aaron has been around baseball since he was 4 years old, growing up playing Little League in Belmont, Optimist baseball in Gastonia, Belmont Middle School, South Point High School and American Legion baseball with Post 144/266. He even walked on at NC State before ultimately pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.

Today, Aaron works as a Civil Engineer designing overhead transmission lines, but baseball has always remained a big part of his life. After being part of several coaching staffs during his oldest son’s development, he now gets the chance to coach his youngest.

Aaron is married to Heather, and they have two boys, Callan (12) and Tucker (9).

As a coach, Aaron is passionate about the little things; baseball IQ, readiness, focus, effort and intensity. His philosophy is simple: when you're prepared, work hard, and take care of the small things, the outcomes tend to take care of themselves.

Coach Horne fun fact: he played at Martha Rivers Park when it first opened and hit the first home run *EVER* at the park. (okay, that's a real fun one to be able to claim when you've played ball in this area your whole life! 🤌🙌)
