Doubleheader Day at Anderson = Double Solids 👊🏼 👊🏼

Big field of 26 mixed class cars on a warm October night and your favorite driver showed up for the Showdown Showdown Series with 3rd & 4th place finishes!

Race 1 - P5⏩️P4 - recovered from the inside line having a bad initial start, dropping to 8th, to be running 3rd on white flag lap. Got shipped from 3 car lengths back to finish 4th 🙄

Race 2 - P6⏩️P3 - Executed well on a myriad of restarts in a wreck filled race that would ultimately time out after 15 laps. Dodged a close one right in front of us that had us centimeters from getting destroyed.

Thankful for the coaching and fast hot rods from Miller Performance Motorsports Direct !

Get well soon Pops after the appendix surgery! We missed you and Nana this weekend!

Better. But Not Our Best Yet.

We missed it in qualifying. In the race we had some bad luck. Had some good luck. Had some good moves. Had one bad one. But we came away with a top 10 from Dillon Motor Speedway in a packed field of nearly 30 cars.

Qualified P19. Finished 10th. Overcame some madness in front of us that required two separate trips to the pits. Drove from the back toward the front and avoided a few wrecks that helped our finishing position.

All in all we had a fast Miller Performance Motorsports Direct hot rod in the race; felt like if we can qualify top 10, we can race top 5 with it. Excited to get back out in a few weeks.

Not at our best; disappointing night at Florence; made some mental errors in qualifying and early part of the race that left us chasing the race all night. We took a top 5-10 car on speed and finished 16th with it 😒

Qualified P22. Dodged some wrecks. Finally started figuring out the track halfway though. Bent the toe out twice. Finished P16.

Good news is we get a chance to hop back on the horse. Practice at Dillon today and race on Monday.

Happy Raceday from Florence Motor Speedway It’s been a learning curve for us at a new track through two practice sessions today. But we made big gains in second practice; ready for qualifying once Mother Nature cooperates ⛈️

What an Adventure 🏎️💨

Our first road course event of any kind was an awesome learning experience! We hit speeds we’ve never hit before, turned right more than we ever have before, and dodged a wicked wreck relying on our old QM skills like never before (Glad everyone is ok!). Our Miller Performance Motorsports Direct hot rod was faster than we were, especially with us falling out of the seat and getting sick over the weekend 🤒 Despite all that we still improved our best lap by 7 tenths over Day 1 and 4 full seconds from when we unloaded. Still got 2 more to go 😉

Glad we made the trip and got all the laps we could. See y’all next weekend at an oval track somewhere in South Carolina 😉

Day 1 of the DominionRaceway Summer Sling Doubleheader is in the books - our first two ever road course races! Mistakes, we’ve made a few but all part of the learning process 🤓Race 1 was forgettable 🥴 but Race 2 was much more solid 👊🏼 We battled transponder issues all day with the track so some positions are approximate 🫠Race Recap inbound…

Qualifying - P16 (we think)
Race 1 - P20 (we think) As high as 12th but a couple missed corners into grass & gravel and a last lap spin when running 16th doomed our race. Needless to say, a lot to learn from.

Race 2 - P12 (we think) Much cleaner race and we didn’t need to vacuum out grass and gravel or even do any welding after this one like we did Race 1 😶‍🌫️ Made some great passes but still have a few corners to work on to race in top 10.

We are back at it again tomorrow for another doubleheader! Thank you Miller Performance Motorsports Direct for such an awesome hot rod and the coaching.
