Hello everyone. So please kindly get your vaccines.
I do not foresee Judo being hosted at the YMCA anytime soon.

Judo is being hosted via the Whatcom Wrestling Academy located at the Bellis Fair Mall. Enter at the food court and hold the Right side turn. Classes are being held currently on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6pm. Good crowd and the sensei are there enjoying and teaching our sport.

It has been a while since my last post. I have been unsure as to what to say. Yet, I am sure of this. It is my hope that this situation will resolve itself as quickly as possible. We cannot know when the day will come that life may return to normal. When that day comes, Whatcom County Judo Sensei will return to teach Judo to all.

USJF has released new guidelines regarding the pandemic. We are going to need to wait for phase 4 to reopen at the YMCA.

This event has reminded me of how interconnected we are as humans. That we depend on each other. We need each other. In the spirit of mutual welfare and benefit, we must continue to pull together to defeat an invisible enemy.

The YMCA has been able to reopen as of July 15th. Current restrictions do not yet allow space for Judo. I take this as a sign that we are making progress towards “normal”. I miss you. -Michael

Not yet... the YMCA and the government need to provide the all clear. Enjoy the Summer and how you can find happiness.

Hope for June. This is something simply beyond my control. I miss you. We will return when we get the all clear.

I’ve received notice from USJF that all recreational Judo clubs are ordered closed until May 15 at least. I will post updates as received.

We are on a hold for classes as the YMCA has chosen to be cautious in light of our public health notice. We expect to resume class in April 2020. Until then, please stay healthy.

Class continues at the YMCA. and going strong. Note that Thursday’s in March will have a 7:30 pm start time to accommodate the annual YMCA fundraiser drive event. No change to Tuesday night class still starting at 6:45 pm. Back to usual schedule in April 2020.

Great News. Starting in January 2020 we are going to have access to the Judo room at 6:45 pm! The earlier time will benefit us all. Especially our youngest judoka!
