Today Tripp turns 6!!!!!

The women leading this class didn't all start the same way.

One started martial arts as a child.

Two started as adults after their own children began training.

Two are moms.

One is the daughter of a police officer.

One owns this school.

Today, all three are Black Belts. More importantly, they're women who remember what it felt like to be the beginner.

They're here to teach practical skills, build confidence, and create a place where every woman feels welcome.

Today Kevin turns 18.

If you've spent time at NCK Bellingham, chances are you've worked with Kevin at some point.

Whether it's helping during a private lesson, working one-on-one with a student who needs a little extra support, coaching a tournament competitor, or jumping in wherever he's needed, Kevin has become an important part of what we do.

He has a way of meeting students where they are. He celebrates their victories, helps them through challenges, and quietly puts in the work to help others succeed.

Over the years, we've watched him develop not only as a martial artist, but as a coach, mentor, teammate, and leader. The younger students know they can count on him. The tournament team knows he'll show up ready to work. The instructors know they can trust him with responsibility.

Eighteen is a big milestone, but it feels less like a finish line and more like the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Kevin, thank you for the time, energy, and heart you have poured into this school and the people in it.

Happy 16th Birthday, Declan!

Today, our NCK Bellingham family is celebrating a very special milestone.

We've had the privilege of watching Declan grow up right here on the mats. From student to leader, we've seen his hard work, dedication, and character shine through year after year. The belts and achievements are important, but what makes us most proud is the young man he has become.

One of the best parts of being part of a martial arts school is that we get to grow together. We celebrate birthdays, graduations, accomplishments, and all the moments in between. Before you know it, the kids who once seemed so small are turning 16.

Declan, thank you for being such an important part of our NCK Bellingham family. We are proud of you and excited to see what this next chapter brings.

Hi, it's Mindy again.

For years, I sat in the waiting room watching my boys train. I cheered, I encouraged, and I watched them grow.

Then one day, I stepped onto the mat myself.

I wasn't naturally good at it. I was nervous. I made plenty of mistakes. But one of the greatest gifts I gave my boys was letting them watch me be a beginner.

They learned that courage isn't about already knowing how. It's about being willing to start.

If you're a mom who's been watching from the sidelines, whether it's because you're busy, nervous, or you've convinced yourself it's "too late," I want you to know... it isn't.

Your kids are always watching. Let them see you try something new. Let them see you work through challenges. Let them see that growth doesn't stop when we become adults.

This summer, don't just sit in the waiting room.

Step onto the mat.

You might come because of your child, but you may discover something that's just for you.
