Today we celebrate more than a belt, rank, or milestone. We celebrate the hard work, consistency, growth, and determination that brought you here.

Grady, it has been incredible watching your journey. The effort you put in, the challenges you’ve pushed through, and the way you continue to show up says so much about your character. Martial arts is about so much more than punches and kicks. It is about discipline, resilience, confidence, and becoming the kind of person who keeps going even when things get hard.

Yesterday, Mindy spent the day at Clough Elementary School in Mendon for Inspired Learning Day, sharing martial arts skills students could take home, along with lessons on healthy habits, confidence, and how martial arts can help them succeed in other sports and activities.

Today, she was at Hartnett Middle School in Blackstone for Career Day, talking with students about careers in wellness, fitness, massage therapy, and martial arts.

We are grateful for opportunities like these to connect with local students and share the many ways movement, wellness, and martial arts can make a positive impact both on and off the mat.

Happy Birthday Coach Steve

Today we celebrate someone who is at the heart of everything we do here.

Coach Steve is more than an instructor. He is a steady presence on the mat, a role model for our students, and someone who truly cares about every person who walks through our doors. Whether it’s helping a student through a tough moment, pushing someone to believe in themselves, or just showing up day after day with consistency and commitment, he makes a lasting impact.

So much of what happens here wouldn’t be the same without him. The energy, the structure, the way students grow not just in skill but in confidence and character, that comes from the time, effort, and heart he puts in every single day.

We are grateful for everything he does behind the scenes and on the mat. The early days, the late nights, the lessons taught, and the example set.

Coach Steve, we appreciate you more than words can say.

Congratulations, Sempai Kevin.

Some graduations feel especially meaningful, and this is one of them.

As his mom, dad, and brother, we’ve had the privilege of watching Kevin grow up at home. But our dojo family has had the privilege of watching him grow up here, too.

For so many years, these mats have been part of his story.

We’ve watched him grow from a younger student into a true martial artist, teammate, competitor, and leader. We’ve watched him work hard, face challenges, step into tournaments, chase wins, and grow stronger through every season.

And one of the things that makes Kevin who he is, is that even as he became a fierce competitor, he always made room for others to shine too. He celebrates teammates. Encourages younger students. Shows up for the people around him. That says so much about his character.

So many of our students have grown up alongside him. So many younger students have looked up to him, whether he knows it or not.

A dojo becomes family because of moments like this. Because we do not just teach classes here. We watch kids grow into remarkable young adults.

Kevin has been part of the heart of NCK Bellingham for a long time, and watching the young man he has become has been something really special.

Congratulations, Kevin. Your dojo family is incredibly proud of you, and as your mom, dad, and brother... we are beyond proud. 🖤🥋

At NCK Bellingham, we love celebrating our students, family members, and our community through every milestone and season of life.

From preschool to college, every graduation matters and every accomplishment deserves to be celebrated. We are so proud of all the hard work, growth, and dedication happening both on and off the mat.

We’re especially excited because we have 2 high school graduates we’ll be celebrating very soon. Stay tuned.
