Crystal Mountain Alpine Club (CMAC) is a non-profit, predominately volunteer organization founded in 1963. CMAC is for skiers of all ages who enjoy competitive ski racing as well as advanced free skiing. Our coaching staff is dedicated to helping racers at all levels achieve their personal ski racing goals. CMAC's philosophy is to provide a program that is fun and enjoyable for all participants wh

ile developing strong skiing skills learned through structured training and directed free skiing using the entire mountain. This creates strong racers and excellent skiers with a deep love of the sport. The CMAC philosophy not only develops successful ski racers, but skiers who will participate in the sport throughout their lives. This philosophy also develops life skills that transcend sports. CMAC alums have successfully competed in national and international competition. Most recently two alumni - Scott Macartney and Libby Ludlow - raced in the Olympics for the US Ski Team - and then come back to coach the younger athletes providing CMAC the strongest coaching staff in the Pacific Northwest. CMAC and its racers regularly enjoyed great success, earning top results at PNSA team championships at all levels of our program. CMAC’s program is highly regarded and respected at the regional as well as the national level.

CMAC Senior Shoutout: Boone North 🎓

Boone has been part of CMAC since about age 11, joining in 2018, and it’s been a privilege to watch his growth over the years. He attends Mount Si High School and has consistently brought focus, competitiveness, and a love for the process to everything he does.

A highlight of his career was being selected to the 2025–26 PNW Alpine Team. Along the way, Boone built a long list of memories through travel, camps, and races, including time in Saas Fee, Mt. Hood, Colorado, and Sun Peaks.

He shared his appreciation for his parents and his coaches, Alan, Uros, Enzo, and Ty, who supported him throughout his journey.

Thank you, Boone, for being part of CMAC all these years. Your commitment to the program and the way you’ve developed as both an athlete and teammate have meant a lot to this community.

Boone plans to attend Montana State University to study engineering. He will also continue competing as a mountain bike racer.
Proud of you, Boone, and excited to see what’s ahead. 🚵‍♂️🎿

CMAC Senior Shoutout: Cooper Harrington 🎓

Cooper comes from a long line of Harringtons in the CMAC community, and it’s been special to have him continue that legacy. He joined the program in 2015 as a U8 and has been a steady presence ever since. He attends Bainbridge High School and has balanced skiing with a strong interest in environmental sciences.

Some of Cooper’s favorite memories come from the team side of the sport: preseason camp dinners, afternoon downtime at Mt. Hood in the summer, and long travel days with friends chasing great places to ski.

He shared his appreciation for the people who made it all possible. He thanked his parents for the long drives, late nights, and for essentially acting as his travel planners year after year. He also credited his coaches Uros, Alan, and Enzo, each of whom played a different role in his development, from technical detail to positivity to practical race-day adjustments.

Thank you, Cooper, for everything you’ve given to CMAC over the years. You’ve been an important part of this program and community.

After graduation, Cooper plans to take a gap year to continue ski racing with Team Panorama in British Columbia. After that, he will attend St. Olaf College, where he plans to study and compete on the alpine ski team.

We’re grateful to have had you in CMAC, Cooper, and excited to see where this next chapter takes you. 🎿

CMAC Senior Shoutout: Josie Howe 🎓

Josie Howe joined CMAC in 2014 at age 7 and has been a steady, committed presence in the program ever since. She attends Garfield High School and has grown into one of the top athletes in our program through years of hard work and consistency.

Her accomplishments include being named CMAC Female Skier of the Year in 2025, qualifying for U18 Nationals in 2025, and qualifying for U.S. Nationals in 2026. Beyond results, Josie has been all in when it comes to the full experience of the sport. Some of her favorite memories include Europe ski camps, Mt. Hood summers, Golden Rose races, and her time competing in FIS.

Josie shared her gratitude for the people who made this journey possible, including her family, her mom Ginny, her dad Jerry, and her brother Charlie, along with coaches Alan, Uros, Enzo, and many others. She also spoke about the friendships she has built along the way, which have meant just as much as the racing.

Thank you to Josie for your contributions to CMAC over the years. Your commitment, energy, and leadership have made a lasting impact on this program.

She will be attending St. Olaf College in the fall, where she plans to study nursing and compete on the alpine ski team.

We are proud of you, Josie, and excited to see what comes next. 🎿

CMAC Senior Shoutout: Daniel Oskov 🎓

It’s been so great to have Daniel (and his dad, an excellent race official volunteer!), new to CMAC this year, as part of our team. Even in a short time, he made an impact with his work ethic, attitude, and the way he showed up for both training and his teammates.

Daniel has been racing for nine years and attends Inglemoor High School, where he completed the full IB Diploma program. One of his favorite CMAC memories this season was bouncing frozen eggs at Copper, a good snapshot of the kind of fun and team culture he stepped right into.

He shared his appreciation for his coaches, teammates, and parents who have supported him along the way.

Next year, Daniel will continue his education at University of Washington while continuing to train with CMAC. His goal is to keep progressing and work toward qualifying for the 2030 Olympics. 🇧🇬 🇺🇸

We’re glad you found your way to CMAC, Daniel. Excited to see what’s ahead. 🎿
