My name is Andrew Mapp, I’m also known as “speedmapps”! I am the Speed Director at a premier sports training facility. I’ve had the pleasure to work with 100’s of high school & collegiate athletes across an array of different sports including soccer, basketball, baseball, football, tennis, and track. As well as, professional athletes including Bobby Wagner, Richard Sherman, Budda Baker, KJ Wright,
Zaire Franklin, Josh Gordon, Boston Scott, Kyler Gordon, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Daniel Hardy, and Lance McCutcheon from the NFL. Blake Malone from the MLS. Olivia Van der Jagt, and Jordan Thompson from the NWSL
I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. Growing up I was a very active child. My parents encouraged me and my two older brothers to participate in a slew of sports ranging from gymnastics, tennis, baseball, basketball, and soccer. Later in my adolescence I ventured into football and track. Ultimately track and field took my heart and ran with it. I began my coaching career with my former high school track club, YMCA Team Idaho in the winter of 2009 co-coaching hurdles. That spring in 2010 I was given the opportunity by my now dear friend and mentor, Bryan Stith, to coach hurdles at a local high school (Capital High School). Over a 6 year span from 2010 to 2016 I had the honor to coach 15 State Champions and with those State Champions 6 state records were broken. 5 in Idaho and 1 in Oregon. I relocated to the Seattle area in 2016 and got connected to Tracy Ford at Ford Sports Performance. It’s here where my real journey in training began. I cultivated the skills to be an all around sports performance trainer. From strength training to speed, agility and quickness.
