✨ Behind the Scenes of Recital Continued✨
Long before recital day arrives, the costume process is already well underway.
It all begins back in October with hours of searching for costumes that are age-appropriate, high quality, and the perfect fit for each class and routine. Miss Lucina and I met for hours over Fall Break searching for the perfect costume for each class!
Once they arrive, we begin sorting, organizing, trying on every costume, making exchanges, steaming, labeling, and preparing each one so it's ready for picture week and recital weekend.
By the time recital arrives, every costume has been carefully packed into garment bags, making it as easy as possible for our dancers and families.
A huge thank you to Miss Lucina, TTP alumna Keirra, and our mentorship students for the many hours spent helping with costume prep throughout the season. From fittings to steaming and everything in between, your hard work helped and was very appreciated!
I also would like to give a big shout out to my mom, Rebecca. She goes along with all of my ideas of adding appliqués and rhinestoning… because we have to make everything a little extra and just that much more special. 😉

Thankful for all of those that help make it possible behind the scenes! 🤍

✨ Another behind the scenes of Recital ✨

We are incredibly fortunate to have the Blair Theatre for the Arts right here in our community. Having such a beautiful venue for our dancers to perform in is something we never take for granted. This year, the addition of the gorgeous new curtains and side panels made the stage look even more spectacular!
A heartfelt thank you to the Blair Theatre Board and its volunteers for the time, care, and dedication you pour into maintaining and improving this wonderful community treasure. Your work creates opportunities for so many organizations, performers, and families.
And a very special shoutout to Skylar for keeping our lights and sound running smoothly all week long with our rehearsals and also for both of our shows. Having someone we can trust behind the control booth helps make recital day seamless and allows us to focus on our dancers.
It takes a village to put on a recital, and we are so grateful for everyone who helps behind the curtain.

Recital MVP? The guy carrying the Marley floor. 💪 (It’s so heavy - but worth it for our dancers!)
While everyone sees the costumes, dances, and stage lights, they don't always see the people working behind the scenes to make it all happen. Over the next few days, I’d like to share some of those helpers!

First up- Thank you to my husband for hauling flooring, setting up, tearing down, and saying "yes" to every last-minute thing I needed during recital week. The studio, the dancers, and I are lucky to have you. The show couldn't go on without a lot of helping hands, and yours are some of the most important.

Our little corner of the dance world has turned into a family thing with all hands on deck, and I’m thankful for this crew. 🫶

As I sit and reflect on our 16th Annual Recital, my heart is overflowing with gratitude.
Last Saturday was everything we hoped it would be and more. 💙 Our first show was filled with excitement, smiling faces, and dancers taking the stage for the very first time. So much pride! There is something so special about watching young dancers experience the magic of performing and seeing their hard work shine under the stage lights. Seeing the confidence get stronger. And then to also see our older dancers shine, and to remember that they were those young dancers not long ago.
Our second show brought a different kind of emotion. The theater was filled with energy, cheers, laughter, and tears as we celebrated another incredible season together. We watched our seniors take their final bows, and we said a heartfelt "see you later" to Miss Lucina. Moments like these remind us just how quickly the years pass and how precious our time together truly is.

To our dancers, thank you for trusting us with your journey. Watching you grow in confidence, character, kindness, resilience, and passion is the greatest gift. While we are teaching dance steps, technique, and performance, it has always been about so much more than dance. It is about helping young people become strong, compassionate, hardworking individuals who will make a difference wherever life takes them.
To our families, thank you for your trust, support, and commitment. Thank you for the countless drives to class, the costume changes, the encouragement, and for sharing your children with us. We are so grateful to be part of their lives.

I feel incredibly blessed to do what I do. The love, friendships, memories, and life lessons shared within our studio walls are something I never take for granted.
Season 16 was truly a celebration in every sense of the word. My heart is full of pride, love, and gratitude for every dancer, family, staff member, alumni, volunteer, and supporter who made it possible.
Thank you for an unforgettable recital and more importantly an unforgettable season.
With all my love,
Miss Kendra 🤍

✨ Congratulations, Miss Lucina! ✨🎓
From student, to alumnae, to beloved TTP staff member - Lucina has been such a special part of The Turning Pointe family throughout the years. Her kindness, passion, leadership, and love for our dancers have made an impact that will always be part of our studio.

Lucina graduated last week from Cloud County Community College with her Associate in Arts degree. Next year, she will begin her next chapter at Wichita State University pursuing a degree in Dance with a minor in Psychology. We could not be more proud!

We are so thankful for the years, memories, and love she has shared with TTP. While we will miss her greatly next year, we are beyond excited to watch her future unfold and see all the amazing things ahead for her. Wishing you all the happiness and success in this next adventure, Miss Lucina. This isn’t goodbye - it’s simply “see you soon!”

🎓✨ Senior Spotlight: Cora Schnakenberg ✨🎓

Today we are celebrating another one of our incredible 2026 seniors - Cora Schnakenberg! Cora has been dancing for 11 years, and throughout those years she has brought so much heart, passion, and positivity.

Next year, Cora plans to attend the University of Kansas where she will major in Journalism with a minor in Business.

When asked what dance has given her, Cora shared:
“Dance has given me the best friends, the best memories, and has taught me who I am. I wouldn't be half of the person I am today without dance.” ✨

Her advice to our younger dancers:
“Truly soak up every single second. Dance with all of your heart, love loudly and always be yourself.” 💕

Cora, thank you for the love, leadership, joy, and authenticity you have shared with TTP. Your faith and light shine bright. We cannot wait to cheer you on in your next chapter!

🎓✨ Senior Spotlight: Hannah Bowers ✨🎓

This morning we are so excited to celebrate another of our special 2026 seniors - Hannah Bowers! Hannah has been dancing at TTP for an incredible 16 years, making her truly part of the heart and history of our studio. Watching her grow through the years has been such a special gift.

Next year, Hannah plans to attend Kansas Wesleyan University, where she will major in Biology and continue dancing as a member of their dance team! From there, she hopes to pursue dental school in the future.

When asked about her favorite part of dance, Hannah shared:
“The people who you dance with are the most special people you could ever get to know.” 💕

Her advice to our younger dancers:
“There will be a time where you'll want to stop, but don't. Stick with it. I promise dance is the most special thing you can be in!”

Hannah, thank you for 16 wonderful years of memories, friendship, and dedication to TTP. You have been here since the beginning, and we are beyond proud of you. 💙 We cannot wait to watch all that you accomplish in the years ahead!
