There are a lot of really good workout programs on the internet.
There are apps that can tell you exactly what exercises to do, how many sets and reps to complete, and even what weight you should probably use.
And for some people, that's enough.
But a program can't watch you move.
It can't notice that your squat looks a little different today.
It can't see that you're compensating around an old injury or that a movement just isn't a good fit for you.
It doesn't know you only slept four hours last night, that you're coming back after being sick, or that today might not be the day to push the weight.
It also can't see when you've been playing it a little too safe and you're capable of more than you think.
That's the difference between following a program and actually being coached.
At MetroEast, the workout is programmed before you walk through the door.
But once you're here, our coaches are watching.
We're adjusting loads. Modifying movements. Teaching technique. Progressing exercises. Asking questions. Paying attention to how you're moving and helping you determine what makes sense for you that day.
Sometimes that means pulling something back.
Sometimes it means pushing a little harder.
And sometimes it's simply having someone there who knows you well enough to recognize the difference.
The program tells us what we're doing.
The coaching determines how we do it for you.
That's what hands-on coaching looks like.
And that's what we do here.
