they know investing in their skill development is the best decision they can make. So they decide whatโs the correct balance of time, effort, and money to use for that investment.
Letโs do an investment analogy: some people LOVE spending 50 hours a week pouring through tik tok videos to find value and going all-in on their swing development.
For others, they might instead choose passively to seek info on particular traits of a hitter and incorporate them into their swing.
Or they hire an mentor (a fiduciary! Not your dadโs friend who has a hunch!) with a time-tested track record to advise and guide them.
Either way, the best investors advise time-tested, long term thinking rather than chasing the fad of today schemes.

If you want to devote your effort and time to building your own training workouts, crafting your own meal plans, and keeping yourself accountable, thatโs awesome. I did this for myself for years.
You might decide to outsource your programming to a coach, recruit an accountability partner, or buy into a program that creates your training workouts and nutrition for you.
Either way, this is a multi-year process that requires discipline!
We have hundreds of people who read all the free content on the website and page for years not really taking their development seriously, but the second they finally invested in lessons or joined a Missile Launchers Class or Explosive Hitters Class or an Effective Velo Class or a Body Movement Class or a Long Toss program, they took action and improved.

More to the point, theyโll spend thousands on travel teams without understanding that environment and then skimp or skip the most important aspect - building skills.
Your money, your time, and your effort are all limited resources: how you choose to spend each of them tells me a lot about your priorities.
I am a Proud PIP (a PPIP, if you will), and itโs why I gladly pay hundreds of dollars every month for ๐ฆ๐ฒ own improvement coaches. When I present the coaches to you on the Summit, I have invested dollars in them and have found their knowledge and mentorship invaluable and have passed that along to you.
Many probably think Iโm crazy and that my education is a waste of money (โjust do your own thing!โ), but I feel that itโs the best money I spend every month, and itโs why Iโve prioritized it over other expenses.
I know Iโm doing all I can to help myself and to help you.
Iโm not just paying for a workout plan in an excel document like I see abound in our sport. โCut and pasteโ is what I call it. We have a lot of โcut and pasteโ organizations and Youtube coaches gladly taking your money. Worse, we have coaches who are teaching what they were taught. Really? Youโre teaching the same thing from 40 years ago. Funny how sport has evolved, but somehow not ball playing to these individuals.
When I invest, I am there body and soul. Iโm asking questions. Iโm paying the price to gain their knowledge and insight.
I am paying for accountability from somebody who is checking in on me, expertise from a trained professional who can spot my weaknesses, and the knowledge that Iโll actually understand the moves or thoughts or ideas because Iโm spending my hard-earned money on it.
Iโm also saving myself hundreds of hours and years of expertise because Iโm buying those things from a pro.
It just happens to ALSO come with a training workout or nutrition plan to follow.

*They might have free weights at home in the basement, but they pay money to join a facility, because they hate working out alone and if they know people are counting on them to show up, theyโll actually GO.
*They might pre-pay for 20 pitching instructor sessions because they know if theyโve already paid for it and scheduled the workouts, theyโll actually GO.
*They might pay $20-30 to just go to a gym for one hour on vacation. Expensive? Not when you compare it to the weeks spent after the vacation trying to get back on track.
Theyโll skip movies out or cancel their Taco Tuesdays to instead prioritize a college training camp and prepare for it.
๐๐ง ๐๐๐๐ก ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ฌ ๐ก๐๐ฏ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ก: theyโre not just paying for access to a facility or an overpriced travel team. Theyโre not โwasting their timeโ when they invest their time and energy into the right things. They have their priorities in order and spend their limited resources on the most important, most efficient things.
Itโs not what you say is a priority, itโs what you spend your time or money on thatโs a priority. So PIPs prioritize their money and time on the best stuff, even at the expense of other creature comforts.
How much money do you spend on your skill development?
How much time and effort do you devote to creating your training workouts or fine-tuning your nutrition?
Have you ever hired a coach or paid for an online course?
Do you buy programs that make your life easier, or do you try to get by with free stuff that you know you wonโt actually use?
Whether itโs time, effort, or money, if you want to be a PIP you need to invest in yourself with your priorities in order. This might mean spending more for an instructor and canceling your netflix subscription, or preparing your own healthy meals instead of simply ordering out every night.
Youโre not buying a course or a lesson or an overpriced salad. Youโre buying expertise, accountability and momentum.
And NEVER underestimate momentum.
