Bellbrook Canoe Rental

Bellbrook Canoe Rental We rent Canoes, Kayaks, and Tubes. A safe and friendly atmosphere for families and friends to enjoy nature out on the river. (Updated 8-5-15)
(219)

All trips leave from the Canoe Rental at the top of each hour, and we encourage everyone to arrive 40 mins early so you can register before the trip leaves. All boats are dropped off at the Narrows reserve and go down river to the Canoe Rental. The trip is 5.2 Miles and take anywhere between 1.5-3 hours depending on water levels. Tubes are dropped off at a half way point and can take between 2-3 h

ours depending on water levels. We sell snacks and drinks in the registration office as well as flip flops and other amenities.

*Weather Advisory*
Due to the nature of pop up thunderstorms, trips will still go out so long as there is no thunder or lightning. We do not cancel trips if there is only a forecast for thunderstorms, they are only canceled if, at the time of departure, it is lighting or thundering. This means that it is possible for storms to appear while on your trip. It is recommended that you check the weather before you arrive to determine if you want to go out.

*Please Be Advised*
-Any lost, damaged, or stolen equipment will incure a fee that must be paid before leaving the premises.
-Kids ages 10 and under must wear a life jacket at all times. We provide life jackets for everyone (or you may bring your own).
-Every passenger on canoe or kayak must keep a life jacket with them in the boat or on themselves at all times.
-All boats and tubes must be returned to the canoe rental by 7:00 pm or a fee will incure.
-Ohio Law states that no alcohol may be permitted on ALL Ohio waterways.
-Dogs must be leashed on the Bellbrook Canoe Rental property (they may be unleashed on the river).
-All paid passengers must receive a customized stamp on their hands (given after payment is made in full) to be allowed to load the bus that drops off at the Narrows.

Due to an emergency we have to close today (Sat 5/30). Sorry for the inconvenience.

We are open today (5/30)! No rain coming as far as anyone can tell....finally. The writer of this post went on the river yesterday and it looked pretty open. It should make a nice trip! We don't do same day reservations, but we have plenty of open spots. Trips get ready to leave 15 minutes before every hour from 9am to 3pm. Just be here at least 30 minutes ahead of time.

*Edit: While the water isn't too high, it is still a bit higher than normal. Be prepared for a quicker trip, and I would recommend kayaks over canoes.

We will be open today (5/29, but the water is still high enough that we will only be putting out kayaks and tandem kayaks. I highly recommend experienced paddlers only and no children.

Tomorrow, barring a completely unforseen event, we should be open with no restrictions.

We are closed today (5/28) due to high water. I think there is a good chance that the water will be fine by tomorrow, but we'll see. I think there is almost a 100% chance that it will be good to go on Saturday! Sorry for the inconvenience.

The river has not lowered enough. We will be closed today (5/25). Refunds will be given. Sorry for the inconvenience.

05/25/2026

Right now, we are closed (Monday 5/25) due to high water. However, we will see how the water looks at noon, and if levels drop enough, we might open for a 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm trip. We can move up all current reservations to those times, but if this doesn't work for anyone they can let us know and receive a refund. If we fo end up closing, all reservations will automatically be refunded.

While the water has receded from where it was yesterday, it's still pretty high. In case you missed the last post we are closed today (5/24)...obviously. Since more rain is suppose to come today, I'm highly doubtful we'll be open tomorrow, but we will see.

05/23/2026

It's time for me to face reality, and stop hoping for a miracle to be wasted on lowering the water levels for our business. We WILL BE CLOSED on (Sunday 5/24/26) due to high water. All reservations will be canceled and refunded. That will either happen tonight or tomorrow morning. Sorry for the inconvenience.

05/23/2026

We are closed today (Saturday 5/23) due to high water. We will be refunding anyone who had booked with us today.

At this point, barring a miraculous event, we will be closed tomorrow as well. However, the writer of this post is going to hope for the impossible, and wait until later today to make that official.

05/21/2026

As of right now, we are closed today (Thursday 5/21/26) due to high water. There is a possibility that we could open at 1pm if water levels lower enough by then, but I have my doubts on that happening. I will update this post around noon as to whether or not we'll be open at 1pm.

Edit at 11:47am: We will remain closed for today. The water level hasn't lowered enough.Sorry for the inconvenience.
