The 2026 Great Northern Clambake is in the books. 90 holes of golf over 4 days. A wonderful rental home overlooking Lake Bellaire. 12 of the best dudes on the planet.

Congrats to Josh Summerfield for repeating as Individual Champion. The Olde Dirty Clampot trophy is his once again, He led wire to wire and was never really tested. A dominant win:

Josh and Isaac McClelland also defended their Team title to keep the Coral/Salmon Jackets in Vicksburg, MI for another year.

2024 Great Northern Clambake - Rnd 3 of 4

The lads battled Arnold Palmer’s classic gem, The Legend, for over 5 hours yesterday. Every man struggled in some way. But not one of those men was left behind. Isaac Mclelland maintained his 6 point lead in the Individual Competiton, while Alistair and Ross lead the Team Competition where it’s still anyone’s game.

In the evening was the Big Game. Six 2-man scramble teams playing all at once for an obscene amount of money. Literally, dozens of dollars. The noblest and most valiant duo prevailed. Nic and Dan are now immortal and generationally wealthy.

Today is the final round at Cedar River. Onward to glory…..

2024 GREAT NORTHERN CLAMBAKE

After a delightful warm up round at Cedar Chase, we arrived at the Hawks Eye house on Wednesday evening. Our traditional opening night shootout was capped off by a near hole-in-one lip out from 155 yards by Les Freshwater on the 9th hole. A broad charcuterie spread was enjoyed by the lads as the Opening Ceremonies were performed on the back deck without incident.

Thursday was our long day. 36 holes at Hawks Eye and then Cedar River. The air was muggy and the competition was electric. This year’s GNC features a new twist: the low 6 players have been cut and relegated to a flight reserved just for losers. Those poor souls will compete against themselves for the final 2 rounds for a small amount of money and a smaller amount of respect.

Isaac Mclelland is your leader in the Individual Competition and the team of Alistair Lynch and Ross Keilen lead the Fourball Competition. Today: 18 holes at The Legend at Shanty Creek Resorts.

The Great Northern Clambake #10 is a wrap. What a week. 12 of the best guys you could ever find. Good hearted competition. A b**r or two. More laughs than we could ever hope to count. In the end, Mark Meldrum played some incredible golf to win the Olde Dirty Clampot going away. His 2nd GNC title. And, as always, the brothers Meldrum stormed back on the last day to win the team competition by a nose. The Salmon Jackets weren’t on hand to be worn by the champs, so hideous matching polos would have to do. The best week of the year.

Friday of Clambake week 2023. The most wonderful day of the year. An early round 2 at Hawks Eye, followed by our traditional lunch and shenanigans at Short's Brewing Company, culminating in the Epic 2-man Shootout in the evening. The stalwart team of Dan Gregart and Les Freshwater emerged victorious in the shootout, with riches and glory their reward. As for the tournament proper, Mark Meldrum holds a slim lead in the Individual Competition, while the team of Josh Summerfield and Isaac McClelland lead the Fourball event. Tomorrow: a final round at The Legend where points are doubled and champions will be crowned.

Standings thru around 1 of the 2023 Great Northern Clambake. Aaron Rheaume surges into the lead with 56 points. A great day of competition at Cedar River followed by some chill time at the Hawks Eye house. Tomorrow: Hawks Eye golf club and the points are increased. It’s anyone’s game.
