So proud of our 5 All State players who received their awards on the field at the D4 All Star game today!!!! And our two seniors bats were as hot as the sun today! Abi Yuhaus with an rbi fly ball to left and Addy Patton with a triple! Way to go out with a bang girls! 👊❤️

Yes!!!

One of the biggest problems in youth sports?

Parents and coaches treating failure like it’s a disease.

The second a kid struggles, everybody rushes in to explain it away, soften the blow, or make excuses for why it happened.

Why?

Failure is part of the damn job description.

You think college athletes aren’t failing?
You think Olympians aren’t failing?
You think the best players in the world aren’t getting punched in the mouth by this game on a regular basis?

Come on.

The difference is they’ve learned how to handle it.

They don’t fall apart every time something doesn’t go their way. They don’t need someone to save them. They don’t spend weeks feeling sorry for themselves because they struck out, got cut, or had a terrible game.

They adjust.

They own it.

They move on.

Some of the toughest athletes I’ve ever coached weren’t the most talented. They were the ones willing to fail over and over and over again without letting it define them.

That’s where confidence actually comes from.

Not success.

From knowing you’ve survived the hard stuff before and you’ll survive it again.

Stop teaching kids to fear failure.

Teach them to attack it.

Because the athletes who learn how to fail are usually the ones standing at the end when everybody else quits.
