I was asked recently how I handle winter weather when you can't be outside--practicing or teaching. First, practicing. I have a variety of drills that can be done inside and I use them. I am also trying new ones to see if I can use them with students. Those of you who have been to my school and, hopefully still have your workbooks, have access to some of those drills.
Secondly, teaching. Because I love teaching golf--it's my passion--I am always looking and studying what might make me a better teacher. I do have to say that a lot of YouTube videos shock me--especially the 5 minute fixes. But I watch and I read, primarily so I know what to fix this upcoming season.
Finally, I try to learn things that might help my students. For instances, I just finished 3 online classes with Titleist University dealing with irons and wedges. I also spend time every day learning more about The Rules of Golf. BTW, if you are interested, the USGA has a beginner's course, online and it's free.
Add my love of wildlife--birds, deer, etc. I stay busy. Hope to see some of you this Spring. Stay warm and be careful.
