I know a lotnof yii ask about fishing when you are here hunting. Well it’s that time of year. Capt Scooter Lilley has been ON the trout this last week. We have a some days open either with him or me. Like Christmas Eve, today is “The Grind Eve”. It all begins tomorrow. We are excited to get the season started and visit with all our great clients. This will be me and Ashley’s 21st season working together.

Anyone looking for a great get away on the water without the beach crowd check this place out. We put some hunters up there this winter and I can tell you they spared no expense. Right in the Pungo River with boat dock and lift. We had 12 hunter stay here but it would make for a great couples get away. Probably the only place you can take your wife down east to fish and she would be excited. whirlpool bath Tubs, huge beds, amazing views and all on a secluded property. Even Dog friendly.

All you wanted pups and slots reds yesterday. Even a few over the slot. Plus some nice trout. First Tarpon seen on this side as well this week. If it stay dry and salty we should have good chance at those this year close to home.

It’s that time of year. Trout and drum bite is on! I’ve seen some huge trout this year and with spawn started they will only get bigger. Anyone looking to catch some good eating fish get up with me. I fish out of Belhaven and there are plenty of options for lodging and meals. Big drum have also made a showing and that bite will probably get good earlier than normal. The next 3 months will be some good fishing.
