A workout is never just a workout.
There are moments in every workout where it gets hard—when your grip starts to fade, your body wants to quit, and your mind starts negotiating for “good enough.” In those moments, I try to widen my perspective.
I think about the couple quietly struggling to conceive when no one else knows their pain. I think about the marriage that is barely holding on behind closed doors. I think about the weight of mental illness—the kind of battles that don’t show up in a mirror but are fought every single day just to keep going.
And I think about the men and women who never got to come home because they chose to put everything on the line for something bigger than themselves—our freedom.
On Memorial Day, we honor those who gave it all. And for me, one small way to do that is refusing to waste the strength and opportunity I’ve been given. To keep pulling when it burns. To keep showing up when it’s uncomfortable. To not take a single rep, or a single day, for granted.
So when it gets hard, I remind myself: this discomfort is temporary. But the sacrifices made for us—and the struggles so many are carrying silently—are very real.
Keep going. Honor it 🇺🇸
