πŸ”₯β€οΈπŸ’™ Bel Air volleyball has been built on leadership, grit, and teamwork, and few have represented that better than Annalise Lewis.

Annalise has committed to continue her academic and volleyball career with the Golden Rams at Albany State, joining one of the SIAC’s premier volleyball programs. Albany State has won 64 of its last 79 conference matches, and Annalise will now have the opportunity to compete for a program with a strong tradition of winning and excellence both on and off the court.

A 3-year varsity starter for the Bel Air Bobcats, Annalise capped off an incredible career as a 2-time All-Conference selection and Conference Player of the Year, helping guide Bel Air to back-to-back UCBAC Championships during her junior and senior seasons while also leading the Bobcats back to the Maryland MPSSAA Final Four.

Her impact went far beyond the stat sheet, helping set the standard for Bel Air volleyball through her work ethic, leadership, and competitive spirit.

Off the court, Annalise has been equally impressive as an active member of Rho Kappa, Paws, Senior Class Council, Stars Club, and Girl Up.

Congratulations, Annalise! Bel Air is proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next.

12/24/2025 - Congratulations to the four Bel Air Bobcats recognized by The AEGIS and The Baltimore Sun for being selected to the 2025 AEGIS Girls Volleyball All-County Team!

πŸ‘ Annalise Lewis – Senior Right Side Hitter
πŸ‘ Emma Duvall – Senior Setter
πŸ‘ Macie Kane – Junior Middle Hitter
πŸ‘ Julie Stillwagon – Senior Outside Hitter

⭐ Special shoutout to Annalise Lewis, who was also named PLAYER OF THE YEAR for the county β€” an incredible and well-deserved honor! ⭐

This recognition reflects not only their individual talent and hard work, but also the dedication of their teammates, coaches, and the entire Bobcat volleyball program who helped make this achievement possible.

So proud of you all β€” way to represent Bel Air! ❀️🐾

12/24/2025 - By Taylor Lyons, Baltimore Sun - Annalise Lewis had a couple of things working in her favor as a new volleyball player. First, her mother played collegiately at Morgan State. Lewis was enamored and wanted to give the sport a try when she was old enough. Her mother signed her up in third grade and she hasn’t looked back. She was forced to play up with higher age groups every year until she reached high school.

Perhaps because of those genes.

Secondly, on that third-grade team, Lewis’ coach was Dave Simon. Simon has coached various youth and club level teams throughout the area in addition to his role at Bel Air. So, when Lewis reached high school and joined the Bobcats, familiarity with her coach and his expectations made the transition smooth.

Four years later, as a senior now weighing her own college options, Lewis is The Aegis 2025 high school girls volleyball Player of the Year. The senior right side hitter posted 168 kills, second most in the county and most on Bel Air, as well as 82 digs, second most on the team, and 13 aces.

β€œIt was very easy to trust the program that I was going into,” Lewis said. β€œA lot of times you don’t know if you’re going to get out of it what you put into it. So it was like, I could trust that I was going to get everything that I put into it, because he was putting everything into it also.”

She credits Simon for her success. Lewis said Bel Air’s staff of six coaches is unique to any other team she’s been a part of. It allows each coach to specialize in one area and teach just that skill, creating well-rounded players and a program that’s perennially on top.

Lewis led this year’s team to a 13-1 regular-season record and the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A East I region bracket. The Bobcats won in straight sets in each of their first three postseason games: North Harford in the regional semifinals, C. Milton Wright to clinch a region championship and Eastern Tech in the state quarterfinals. Bel Air fell in the Class 2A state semifinals to 17-time state champion Williamsport.

β€œWe were friends on and off the court,” Lewis said. β€œSo no matter what the situation was, we had each other’s backs.”

Lewis is the second consecutive Bel Air girls volleyball player to be named The Aegis’ player of the year, a testament to Simon’s program and the culture he establishes. That’s what Lewis, reflecting on her stellar senior year, says she’s thankful for the most and what made each day memorable.

β€œThe people, it made it all worthwhile,” Lewis said. β€œComing into practice and wanting to work hard for my teammates.”

πŸ‘πŸ’™β€οΈ Congratulations to Lexi Couch, Bel Air Girls Volleyball Alumni (Class of 2022) on being named the Offensive Player of the Year in her final college season at Ursinus College in PA. In her senior season she tallied a career best 166 kills and 0.207 hitting efficiency. While at Bel Air her teams advanced to the state final four on 3 different occasions, marking her career as one of the most successful runs ever in Bel Air history. The only season she did not make the final four was the 2021 season which β€œnever happened” due to COVID. Her record at Bel Air was 50-5 with 3 of those losses coming in the final match of the season. Congratulations to Lexi and her family on an amazing volleyball career! πŸ‘β€οΈπŸ’™

πŸ₯Ή11/11/2025 - The #8 Bel Air Girls Volleyball team (17-2) had some great moments but couldn't get past the perennial champs from Williamsport (20-25, 18-25, 22-25). After a three year drought, Bel Air had returned to the State Final Four but had to beat the defending state champions and 17 time state champs from Williamsport to advance to the final game. Each set Bel Air had some promising runs but couldn't sustain them long enough. The team finished the season as Conference Champions, and Regional Champions. They will lose 6 seniors to graduation.
