Late afternoon football game? No problem! Come out to Jville Grill for a little chili! We are throwing down some chili right in downtown Jarrettsville. Stop in, say hello, grab a beer and some steak and cheese chili and cast a vote! Ravens game on the televisions! 4pm to 6pm!

Well...it's been a while! We visited Lafayette Fire Company in East Lampeter, Pa. and cooked some strawberries and steaks in their Spring Double Steak Cook-off! All year we have struggled to get a foot-hold on our taste scores after deciding to turn our flavor profile on it's head. That continued with Steak A as we placed 27th. Steak B we added a little of this and a bit of that and HEY...we landed in FIRST PLACE! Scored 254.0 with a taste score of 54.0. Shocked! So shocked in fact, I was listening to the Baltimore Orioles play-by-play and had no clue my number was even called! As I said...it's been a while. We also deep-fried some chocolate-covered strawberries and pulled a 10th place walk as well.

Thank you to Suzy Sutton and her crew at the Lafayette Fire Company! They always put on a great event!

Thank you to Tim and Callie Manley for always running a smooth event and for yanking my chain at the microphone! Well played Tim! Thank you ro all the judges and volunteers!

Also, thank you to everyone (friends and fellow cooks) who has already sent me congratulations and photo's to boot!

Shout out to Rick and Sue Manzi for developing some winning rubs! Did 80% of the calls this last weekend use some of your rubs?

Congratulations to Pam Johnston on her perfect score in taking first place in the Strawberry Ancillary! Congratulations to Tim Newell for his win in Steak A! Finally a walk in Eastern Pa. Finally congratulations to all who had a walk!
