We've had many event requests during our time here. But there is one we hear more than any other combined. After the 20th request over the Nature Rally weekend, we are excited to share "Woods Walks & Talks". An event led by the one and only, Sean McNay.

Discover the hidden stories of Beech Mountain. These programs feature local history, traditional Appalachian Jack Tales, and hands-on plant identification brought by Parks and Rec Outdoor Supervisor, Sean McNay. These stories will bring tales of Beech Mountain’s past. Jacktales passed through generations and a Plant ID for the trees, wildflowers, and native plants that make this mountain unique. Perfect for visitors, families, and curious nature lovers of all ages.

These free to attend walks & talks will take place at Buckeye Recreation Center 1330 Pine Ridge Road, Beech Mountain, NC, 28604. Each at 5PM.

June 26th - Beech Mountain History (talk)
July 17th - Jack Tales (talk)
August 7th - Beech Mountain Plant ID (walk)
