UPDATE:
We are getting ready to cut our first "check".

Thank you all! We are three days in and have 26 donations and have raised almost $2,500. We realize that our fundraiser is very niche. We are raising money specifically to help our mountain employees bridge the gap of lost wages. With this money they can purchase the items most important to them.

Thank you to our recent donors:

Help Our Beech Mountain Family: Support Employees Affected by Hurricane Helene

The devastation in our beloved Western North Carolina is unfathomable. Hurricane Helene has left our beautiful region reeling, with countless roads washed away, including major interstates, and the few open routes littered with debris. Trees have fallen on cars, homes, and businesses, while others have been completely swept away. Our community faces months of clean-up and weeks without power, crippling our tourism-dependent economy.

Beech Mountain relies heavily on its seasonal/hourly workforce. Many of our friends and neighbors earn hourly wages that support their families and cover basic necessities like rent and groceries. For them, this disaster isn’t just an inconvenience; it’s a potential crisis that could have lasting effects on their livelihoods.

We are grateful for the outpouring of support for evacuations, cleanups, and provisions; now we need to come together to help those who will be unable to work during this challenging time. This fund aims to bridge the gap for Beech Mountain employees on Beech Mountain who have been directly impacted by the storm.

How Your Support Will Help

All donations will go directly to the employees on Beech Mountain who have lost their jobs temporarily due to the storm. This assistance will help cover essential costs—like rent, food, and medical bills—so they can focus on recovery rather than worrying about their next paycheck.

Why We’re Here

We know that many communities are in desperate need, and we truly appreciate every effort made to help. However, we are committed to ensuring that the funds raised here directly support those displaced Beech Mountain employees who have been left vulnerable during this unprecedented crisis.

Who we are

Tammra Granger- We bought our first home on the mountain in 2006 and have fostered lifelong friendships with our neighbors in the Beech Mountain Community. We are BMC members and raised our kids on the Beech Mountain Ski team. I’m a Beech Mountain real estate agent with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.
Abril Rodriguez- My husband and I attended Lees-McRae College, fell in love with the area and decided to stay. We moved to Beech Mountain in 2013 and worked for the Beech Mountain Club, Resort, Fred's, Buckeye and other businesses so we understand the need for the local employees that keep the mountain moving. We own a cleaning and property management business along with rentals on Beech. While our livelihood will be dramatically impacted, we are deeply concerned for the Beech Mountain workers.

Please consider donating to help our Beech Mountain family. Every dollar counts and can make a significant impact in the lives of those who serve our community and contribute to its charm.

Together, we can show that our mountain is more than just a place; it’s a community that cares for one another in times of need.

Would you like to nominate someone? Or Yourself? Please send us a note including as much information as you can.

Thank you for your generosity. Please share this campaign with friends and family to help spread the word!
