Connect. Share. Thrive Together. Don't miss your chance to join us for the 2026 Neuro Retreat.

Meet Sharon Norsworthy, Community Relations Director at Thrive Senior Living.

Since the opening of Thrive, Sharon has connected thousands of individuals and families with the benefits of senior living, support services, and opportunities to continue living purposeful, fulfilling lives.

Known for her heartfelt philosophy that “Every Breath has Purpose, Wrinkles are Wisdom Lines, and Gray Hair does not mean Frailty,” Sharon is a passionate advocate for aging with dignity, meaning, and joy. Her compassion for others and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact have earned her a reputation as a trusted senior living expert.

Before entering senior living, Sharon worked as a journalist and earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications. Her passion for listening to and celebrating the stories of others has remained at the heart of everything she does. She believes that every person's journey matters and that meaningful connections can help us navigate life's challenges and opportunities.

At the Neuro Retreat, Sharon will facilitate the “Living Well Roundtable: Peer Sharing” session. These small-group conversations create a welcoming space for participants to share experiences, routines, challenges, and successes with others who understand the journey of living with a neurological condition.

Guided by Sharon's warmth and experience, the roundtable encourages connection, idea-sharing, mutual support, and the reassurance that no one has to navigate this journey alone.

Who knew there was a ?

Intimacy, relationships, and emotional connection are topics that aren't always easy to talk about, but they are important. Many individuals living with neurological conditions and their partners experience changes that can affect communication, roles, closeness, and intimacy.

These helpful tips from the Parkinson's Foundation are a great place to start. If you'd like to explore the topic further, join us at the 2026 Neuro Retreat!

With more than 30 informative and interactive sessions, there's something for everyone. One of our featured sessions, *Intimacy & Relationships*, offers a guided discussion on the emotional and relational changes that can accompany neurological conditions. Participants will explore communication strategies, navigating changing roles, and practical ways to maintain closeness, intimacy, and meaningful connection with their partners.

Because living well with a neurological condition involves more than managing symptoms - it also means nurturing the relationships that matter most.

The more we normalize and bring awareness to taboo topics, the less taboo they become. This includes symptoms or challenges related to Parkinson's disease!

Today for taboo Tuesday, we're highlighting intimacy and PD. People commonly feel overwhelmed or too embarrassed to bring up this topic to their doctor. However, exploring new ways to connect and communicate — whether you have PD or you care for someone who has PD — will help strengthen your relationship. 🩵
