Everyone showed up, put in the work, and —most importantly, supported their teammates.

Competition preparation isn't just about the people stepping on the mats. It's about the entire team pushing each other, drilling together, challenging each other, and helping everyone get better. A hard class, a great team, and a lot of work getting done. 👊

✳️ Everyone steps onto the mats for a different reason — to compete, earn a new belt, learn how to defend themselves, improve their health, or simply overcome their own limits.

You learn a technique, earn a belt, and begin a new chapter. There is always something to improve, even for black belts.

In our Parent & Child class, one parent or caregiver participates alongside their child as they explore Jiu-Jitsu through playful movement, simple activities, and partner exercises.

✨ Develop social and motor skills
✨ Create special moments together
✨ Have FUN while learning Jiu-Jitsu!

Jiu-Jitsu isn’t something you learn in a few months and then you’re done.
▶️ In just a few months, you can learn a lot: positions, techniques, movements, and start feeling more comfortable on the mats.
But that’s only the beginning.

✳️ Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art. It takes time, patience, consistency, and practice. Some things come quickly, while others may take months or even years to truly understand.

Tonight was the last night that Sinan could train with us before heading off to college in the fall.

It was a bittersweet closing of a chapter - and while we are very happy for him and wish him the best; it's so sad to see him go. 😔

Sinan and his father came to the academy and tried a private intro and then a free class to see if they liked jiu jitsu. They both joined. From then on Sinan dug in. He often would come and train three classes in a row on many nights, and even competed a few times along the way.

This summer he earned his blue belt.

We wish you the best on this next chapter. Sinan. You will always have a home here 🏡
