2008: Dr. Eric Richards, Shane Stewart, Andy McCann, and Wes Harper open "The Garage--A CrossFit Gym" as a licensed CrossFit affiliate in Woodstock Georgia.

2010: The guys hold a competition at a park in Woodstock, Georgia, and call it "The Garage Games." Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS1aleai71Q.

2011: Many people loved the idea of hosting their own competition. Dr. Eric

, Andy, Wes and Shane thought they would use their success and partner with other CrossFit affiliates in bringing events around the Southeast. Even better, they decided it would be cool to have a series of events that competitors could compete in for points and be crowned as The Garage Games series winners. There were 12 events in the Southeast and four in the Northeast. Reebok partner with the series to hand out $10,000 in prizes to the points winners.

2012: The Garage Games series gains in popularity. Even more affiliate owners want to provide the competition experience in their local communities. Again Faster, Progenex, Life As Rx, and Concept 2 become Garage Games series sponsors. JournaMENUl provides cool personalized journals to all winners. Inov8 gives shoes to event winners. There are more than 80 events across the country from Washington State to Long Island, New York, and everywhere in between. On another note, The Garage Gym in Woodstock grows out of it's current space and moves to a larger facility. CrossFit is booming, and we are so thankful for all your support in our gym and in our series.

Basketball and volleyball players. If you feel like nobody understands what it’s like to play a tall sport trying to gain muscle and mass this guy right here lives your life. He’s actually 6’8”, but I thought 6’7” would bring a smile. If you’re looking for your student athlete to grow with a great mentor and one on one assistance coach Matt Bentkowski is your guy.
