We stopped in to shop at REI Conshohoken near Philadelphia PA and talked about the great outdoor rec opportunities in Pennsylvania. Janine told us about the local climbing scene and other destinations in the State. It’s exciting to see the impact of Purple Lizard Maps as we publish new maps! Our Dark Skies Lizard Map comes out in June!

We met with The Nature Conservancy in Conshohocken PA today to talk about maps and conservation! We really like the space they are in as part of the Spring Mill Creative Campus, what a great building!

Want to learn chainsaw techniques for trail work? Attend this class by DCNR Rothrock Forest District!

🪚Chainsaw Training Class

Rothrock State Forest will be hosting a chainsaw training class for volunteers on June 12, 2026 and June 19, 2026. The class will begin promptly at 8:00 am and last until 12:00. The class will be held at the New Alan Seeger picnic area just beyond the pavilions.

The course will cover proper PPE when operating, chainsaw safety, limbing, bucking, and brushing. The course is focused on how chainsaws are used for trail maintenance.

Proper PPE is required to participate. Participants will need chaps, hard hat, eye protection, and leather boots. There will be chaps and hard hats provided to participants to use during the class if they have none.

Participants must register through the DCNR volunteer system and sign up for the class to attend. There is a limited number of spots available, so registration is required. Registration ends the day before each class.

The Centre Street Collective fed us well on a beautiful wet day in historic Cumberland Maryland. We love the revitalized downtown with such great architecture and it’s where the C&O and GAP rail trails meet! Allegany County, the Mountain Side of Maryland is so fun to explore! Be sure to stop in at Wheelzup Adventures if you needs maps, bicycles, or gear!

We stopped in to see the UTMB trail running race, a World Series event happening this weekend in Rothrock State Forest at Tussey Mountain Ski Area. We always knew Rothrock had world class trails! 💜💜
