I finally got the opportunity to mess around with the ATN Thor 4 thermal scope Saturday night. I'm really impressed with the level of detail. We were hitting steel targets from about 100+ yards in total darkness. It was hard to see the steel plates since there wasn't much of a temperature variation between the trees and the plates. But I did manage to get in a few nice hits.

This is a 7.62 x 39 AR conversion that I've been working on. I wanted to convert it to a .300 Blackout but I already had 7.62 ammo on hand. I added a Dead Air Armament Sandman S suppressor and an ATN Thor 4 thermal scope. I'll post more details as I stretch it's legs.

Tuesday Trivia! Since we are building ARs in the shop this week, it seemed only fitting to ask WHAT DOES THE NAME AR-15 REPRESENT?

According to the NRA, AR stands for ArmaLite Rifle, not automatic rifle or assault rifle like some may think. The ArmaLite company made the first prototype and C**t kept the name after buying the original design. The 15 simply refers to the original model number.

These Italian made 9 mm, semi-autos have been a go-to weapon for military and law enforcement for many years.
