Freestyle State in DeKalb, Illinois! A packed crowd was on hand for great matchups and freestyle action. College wrestling coaches are tracking what the top guys win during the off-season, which means competing at US Junior Nationals, taking place from July 10th to 18th under the freestyle format. ✅

The Aries Wrestling Club qualified one of two wrestlers to represent Team Illinois, with both having only had two real seasons of freestyle competition! 🔥🔥

➡️Micheal had a few “crowd-wow” moments and tech falls with great offense, but fell short in the wrestle-backs on day 2 in some of the best scrambles I've seen. MJ can still make the team at second-chance qualifiers.

➡️ Big congrats to Brayden Bates for his third-place finish to make Team Illinois, with his offense producing a solid semis win and his defense being the factor for third.

Aries army made noise Saturday! 🔥 We competed in Gi, NoGi (jiu jitsu) and freestyle wrestling at separate events in Oak Lawn & Oak Park! Thank you coaching staff and parents for the support given the logistics.

Each competitor had solid practices and great camps to prep! The grappler confidence was visible from even our smallest RJ…whose wrestling kept opponents off his legs! ❎

*The smallest mistakes can bear the biggest lessons. Winning by even a point can be harder than winning by 10-0. 🏟️🥇
