Teams:
*There are 3 primary age Divisions in JBO- Seniors (7th/8th), Juniors (5th/6th) and Minors (3rd/4th).
*Players are placed onto teams based on three skill levels per Division- Federal (highest level), American (Mid) and National. This provides an appropriate level of competition and allows kids to thrive in a level against like talent and development.
*Teams stay together as a team unit fo
r the entire season, all the way through the postseason. There are no "all-star" teams per se- the team is the all-star team, affording everyone the opportunity to experience postseason play.
*JBO uses high school baseball rules. This allows youth to develops a complete understanding of the more advanced game of baseball and better prepares a kid to excel at the high school level.
*Players learn advanced situational baseball skills, including base stealing and smart base running, leading off, etc. Pitchers and position players learn how to properly defend aggressive base running at an early level, so it is fluent by high school.
*JBO leagues are direct feeder programs to the local high school teams. Where possible, we work with the Mountainside High baseball coaches on clinics, tournaments, and evaluations. Fields:
*Fields grow as the players grow, allowing an easier transition and optimal development.
*Players have a smooth transition to high school full-size baseball diamond. Minors (3rd-4th): 45' pitching/ 60' base paths
Juniors (5th-6th): 50' pitching/ 70' base paths
Seniors (7th-8th): 60.6' pitching/ 90' base paths
