Just another day at the office for DINT!
On Friday, January 10th, 2025, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) brought to conclusion an ongoing co***ne trafficking investigation. At approximately 4:00 PM detectives, with help from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2800 block of Coos Bay Wagon Road in Lookingglass.
Multiple persons were detained during ex*****on of the search warrant. During a search of the residence detectives found substantial amounts of evidence to include: Approximately 2.3 kilos (5.2 pounds) of suspected co***ne, almost one pound of psilocybin mushrooms, scales and packaging materials used to weigh and package substances, several fi****ms, bulk cash, and other evidence.
43 year old Ronnie Romo of Lookingglass was arrested and lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession, Delivery, and Manufacture of Co***ne, as well as Unlawful Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Psilocybin).
Co***ne seizures are up significantly throughout the pacific northwest in recent months, and Douglas County is not immune from the trend. This is one of the largest co***ne seizures in memory for this area.
The Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) is a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force that identifies, disrupts, and dismantles local, multi-state, and international drug trafficking organizations using an intelligence-driven, multi-agency prosecutor-supported approach. DINT is supported by the Oregon-Idaho High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and is composed of members from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Roseburg Police Department, Oregon State Police, Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, and the Bureau of Land Management.
The Oregon-Idaho HIDTA program is an Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) sponsored counterdrug grant program that coordinates with and provides funding resources to multi-agency drug enforcement initiatives, including DINT.
