Honoring Our Founders: Ranjith Ravindran Ranjith & Prabhu

We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible dedication of Ranjith and Prabhu, the founders of the Rebels cricket team. Back in 2018, they set out with a vision to build a team, and through thick and thin, they’ve made countless sacrifices for our success. Alongside them from day one has been Pradeesh, whose loyalty and support have been a pillar for our growth.

This year, we achieved a monumental milestone—our first trophy! It’s a proud moment for every one of us to dedicate this hard-earned victory to Ranjith and Prabhu, who made it all possible. Thank you, Ranjith and Prabhu, for believing in this team and giving us the foundation to grow. Here’s to many more wins and memories together!

2024 Season Recap and Congratulations!!!

What a season it’s been for Team Rebels! We ended 2024 on a high note by securing a trophy in the T20 Division-2 league, a testament to the hard work and dedication of every player. While we made it to Division-1 in the T15 League, we faced tough competition and bowed out in the quarterfinals. But as always, the fight and spirit we showed on the field were truly commendable!

A huge congratulations to all our players for their incredible efforts throughout the season. A special shoutout to our all-rounders Ajith, Arun, Aneesh, Mahesh, Manitosh, Mukesh, Pavan, Raksh*th, Saravanan, Vaibhav, and Senthil, who have made valuable contributions in every department. Thanks to Ajaj, Vignesh, Vinodh, Guru and Prabhu, your performances with the bat & in fielding were key in many of our victories. Our bowling attack, led by Anant, along with Dhurai, Gowtham & other bowlers, kept the pressure on the opposition consistently. And, of course, a big round of applause to Ranjith and Pradeesh, who not only excelled as batsmen but also held the fort as our wicketkeepers.

Though we faced a few challenges, this season has shown that we have the potential to rise even higher. Let’s carry forward the momentum, learn from our experiences, and come back even stronger for the next season.

Dear Rebels / PDX Super Kings,

I hope this message finds you all in great spirits! I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to each one of you for your incredible performance in the BCSL T12 tournament. Competing as the Portland Super Kings, we emerged as the runners-up in Division 2, and this achievement is a testament to our dedication, teamwork, and relentless effort.

Special congratulations to our lucky captain, Ajith, who has led us to this historic milestone. Ajith, your leadership and strategic acumen have brought us our first-ever trophy in the BCSL, and we are immensely proud of this accomplishment.

A big shoutout to Mukesh for his outstanding all-round performance, earning him the Most Valuable Player award. Mukesh, your contributions with both bat and ball were crucial to our success, and your consistency and excellence inspire us all.

Kudos to Hemanth for winning the Best Fielder award. Your agility and sharpness on the field have set a high standard for the team, and your efforts did not go unnoticed.

While we came close to clinching the title, it was just a matter of hard luck in the final. Nevertheless, our journey through the tournament showcased our resilience and skill, and I have no doubt that we will come back even stronger next time.

Let’s use this runner-up position as a stepping stone to greater success. We have proven that we have the talent and spirit to compete at the highest level. Let’s continue to support each other, practice hard, and stay focused on our goals.

Thank you all once again for your unwavering commitment and passion. Let’s gear up, stay positive, and aim for the top spot in the next tournament!

As you embark on your new journey to Austin, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the incredible impact you've had on our Rebels cricket team and to wish you the very best for your future.

From the moment you joined us, it was clear that you were more than just a player; you are a cricket intellectual. Your deep understanding of the game, coupled with your strategic mind, has consistently given us an edge over our opponents. Whether you were captaining the team through intense tournaments or analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of every player we faced, your insights were invaluable.

Your quick runs between the wickets and your knack for taking crucial wickets have turned many games in our favor. You are not only a decent bowler but a game-changer when it mattered the most. Your ability to produce great strategies and your commitment to understanding our opponents’ tactics have been nothing short of exemplary.

Beyond the cricket field, you brought us together with your awesome cricket parties, organized with such care and attention to detail. Amazing Performance by team Rebels. Won with huge margin against Maratha Warriors and finished in tabletop of Group C.

Extra Ordinary Bowling Performance by Soman. He took 3 wickets and conceded only 4 runs.

First game of the season and we won 🙌

The game started pretty much with singles and maintaining RPO 5, then came the match winning partnership between Ajit(27 runs) and Pradeesh (27 runs), who played out of the skin to run hard between wickets and make 50 runs in just under 8 overs. With the loss of 3 quick wickets and score board pressure, came in the captain Mukesh who made a brisk 12 from 6 balls with 2 boundaries and holed out in the long off trying to clear one. Vignesh had late flourish and Rebels posted 91 in their allotted 15 overs with contribution from all their batters. Lanka lions had initial blow by Anant as he bowled tidy lines in powerplay and didn’t let them get away. Lanka lions looked forlorn in the initial 10 overs as they allowed Kunal and Ajit to finish their spells with 38 onboard, needing 54 in the last 6. overs Kunal bowled a 2 wicket maiden over. However, the turning point came when Hemantha Rajapaksha took on the 5th bowler Pavan and smoked him for 3 boundaries and a six, making the target less than 17 in last 2 overs. Again, came the captain with steel nerves, and bolwed the most important penultimate over giving away just 4 runs and picking 2 more wickets in the over with great outfield catches by Kunal and Vignesh. Having 13 runs in the bank to save, ball was thrown to the struggling bowler, Hemantha lined up to win this, but Pavan got the better of Hemantha bowling 4 dots and giving only 6 runs away. It’s a game of fine margins.
