Owen's Place Park

Owen's Place Park The information provided on this page describes the Owen's Place Park, formerly called Victory Park,

In 1991, the Board acquired 7.75 acres of park land from Victory Baptist Church in the unincorporated area of the Township, hence the name Victory Park. The park is adjacent to Rotary Park located off Dayton-Xenia Road and is currently maintained as passive parkland. It has been minimally developed with a shelter house built with the assistance of Natureworks money, several mini shelters built wit

h the assistance of subdivision regulation funds, and a parking lot. There are grills and a water fountain for patrons’ use, with trails cut through the wooded area leading to an open glade. In 2009 the Park District partnered with the Greene County Community Foundation for the development of a universal playground called Owen's Place, using an Ohio Department of Natural Resources Grant to build the Phase I Shadow Play area 2012. In 2016, Owen's Place opened Phase II Tree House Village in Victory Park. These developments are a fine example of community and private partnerships to realize new recreational facilities for people of all ages and abilities. The latest information on this endeavor is found at www.owensplace.org.

The Owen's Place Recreational Facilities remain closed to the public but that hasn't stopped the Owen's Place Group from beginning its next construction project of installing the Hillside Slide. Hopefully everyone is staying safe and practicing safe separation while using the open green space of Owens Place Park. When we return to the new normal in family life there will be a new addition to the playground equipment that offers full access to people of all abilities. Amanda Bullock Joe Bullock Pete Bales

Mrs. Jones was an early and big supporter of Owen's Place recreational facility located in Victory Park. Louise cared deeply about the community and especially the children who needed such a unique place like Owen's Place - all accessible recreation facility. The Beavercreek Township Park District offers our condolences to the Jones family.

Louise F. Jones, 95, of Beavercreek, formerly of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Trinity of Beavercreek. She was born March 8, 1924, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Frank W. and Esta Confer Kendig. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilfred D. Jones
