Our 15s Holbrook team finished up this past weekend and we could be more proud of them!
Here is what Coach Holbrook had to say about her team!

This was my first year coaching club volleyball after years of coaching youth and high school volleyball, and they made the experience better than I ever expected.
From day one, these girls just clicked. Every practice, tournament, and road trip was something we all looked forward to. From Secret Sister surprises, decorating volleyballs, side-by-side rides, team games for prizes, hotel door posters at OVR tournaments, and future outings already being planned, this team created friendships and memories that will last long after the season.
Our team motto quickly became βNext Play = Best Play.β It reminded us to move on from mistakes, stay confident, and keep pushing forward. No matter what happened, these girls always found a way to reset and support each other.
We also battled injuries and sickness throughout the season that were completely out of anyoneβs control, but the girls still showed up wanting to do whatever they could for their team. One player came limping into practice with a knee brace and said, βCoach, I can still practice.β Another player dealing with tendinitis practiced one-armed because her legs still worked and one arm would do. That toughness and heart defined this group.
I started the season with only 8 girls, most of them mainly hitters or setters. By the end of the season, every girl could confidently play back row, and several expanded into new positions. Some hitters started setting. Some setters became strong hitters and smart tippers with great volleyball IQ. It wasnβt anything special I didβit was simply a group of girls willing to believe me when I told them, βYou can and you will.β
This team competed in five tournaments and made Gold bracket in every single one. They finished 1st in one tournament, 2nd in two tournaments, and 3rd in two tournaments. I know I probably made some people nervous watching our games because my girls would get down 5 or 6 points and I wouldnβt always call a timeout. But I knew my girls, and I knew it only took a matter of seconds and one momentum-shifting play before they were right back in the lead. They knew how to fight and dig themselves out of sets where the score seemed impossible to overcome. More importantly, they represented themselves with toughness, intelligence, sportsmanship, and heart every time they stepped on the court.
These girls came from different schools and communities, but this season they became one team and one family. Iβll forever be a fan of every single one of these girls and will always be cheering them on no matter what school jersey they wear. β€οΈππ§‘π€π©Ά
