Wow, where do I begin. Looking at this list of all of the names of people that I trained or that have worked out on their own in my gym since November of ‘23 fills my heart with so much gratitude.
If you haven’t noticed, we closed our gym on May 1st. It took months and months of prayers, financial discussions, seeking counsel from other business owners, and also taking my health (I still have a brain tumor) and my husbands job (he travels 4 months at a time) into consideration.
I may go into more details as to why we decided to close, but I want this post to be more of a thank you.
Thank you to my husband for being my biggest form of support, my voice of reason, and the muscles to make any adjustments in the gym that my wildest dreams could come up with 😂❤️
Thank you to my family and friends that supported me in any way you could. Your support and encouragement heavily outweighed the “family” and “friends” that did nothing but judge me from the beginning. I learned a lot from those absences, but I also learned who is in my corner for life and I’m forever grateful 🫶
To my landlords, I couldn’t have grown as a business without your grace and support along the way! Thank you for being the best landlords Matt & I could have asked for and for supporting us every single day🙏
To my clients! I am SO thankful you all took a chance on this girl from Ohio that was new to the county, but trusted me from the very beginning. I met some incredible clients and athletes that I took so much pride in training. Your goals were my goals and they still are. Just because the gym is closed doesn’t mean I don’t care about you and your successes.
To God, thank you for giving me the strength, courage, and wisdom to keep trying. These couple years of business ownership taught me more than I could have imagined. I also grew as a person and as much as I tried to grow with grace, I know there were moments I let outside opinions get to me. I learned that those who have been where I am will never judge and those who will never try to do something like open their own business will be my biggest critiques. To the latter population, I hope you all open a personal development book soon and grow in grace as well.
Business ownership is HARD, going to school for 8 years to get a masters degree was HARD, but being a coach never was and it made all of the trials and tribulations worth it. Coach is my favorite title and it doesn’t end here! I am still training athletes at local fields and clients on a remote platform. So, you’re not done with me yet! Mano Sports Performance will just be transitioning to a different, non-brick & mortar model. Updates on that to come soon.
In health,
Coach K
