Last night 70+ girls filled the rink for our Girls Glow Skate, from 3-year-olds stepping on the ice to members of the Beaver Dam HS Girls Hockey team leading the way.
There were glow necklaces and bracelets, music, games, bracelet making, poster decorating and ice cream sundaes. But the best part wasn’t any of those things.
It was watching girls who just met laughing together. It was seeing high school players take the time to encourage younger girls. It was watching girls who had never played hockey skate alongside girls who have been playing for years.
That’s what growing the game looks like!
Hockey is so much more than a sport. It’s friendships. It’s confidence built one stride at a time. It’s learning, growing, challenging yourself and discovering you’re capable of more than you imagined. Most of all, it’s fun! For the kids and the parents 😊
Girls hockey isn’t having a moment. It’s a movement. And we’re proud to be part of redefining what it looks like to skate like a girl.
A huge thank you to the Beaver Dam High School Girls Hockey team for spending your evening mentoring, encouraging and inspiring the next generation. You are incredible role models, and our younger girls were lucky to have you!
And thank you to every family who came out. Whether your daughter has been playing for years or stepped on the ice for the very first time, we’re so glad you were part of this special night. If you have photos, drop them in the comments!
Here’s to more girls, more friendships and more hockey! We can’t wait to see you at the rink. 🏒
